The ideal candidate will design, implement, and manage robust infrastructure solutions, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.\n Ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of the entire infrastructure stack including compute, storage, network and cloud components.\nLead incident response efforts across the infrastructure stack, coordinating with Application Support, SRE, and Engineering teams to minimize MTTD and MTTR.\nPerform root cause analysis for infrastructure related incidents and implement corrective actions.\nDevelop and maintain automation tools for managing infrastructure resources.\nCollaborate with Engineering teams to plan and execute system upgrades and maintenance.\nConduct capacity planning and resource management for all infrastructure components.\nParticipate in on-call rotations to provide 24x7 support for all critical infrastructure issues.\nDesign and implement disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies.\nImplement best practices for monitoring, logging, and alerting across the infrastructure.\nFoster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.\nAnalyze complex infrastructure problems, design scalable and resilient solutions, and lead the implementation of these solutions.\nCollaborate with architects and other engineers to design and enhance the architecture of infrastructure systems, ensuring alignment with business needs and technology standards.\n Proven experience managing and optimizing a diverse infrastructure stack.\nExtensive knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation).\nFamiliarity of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).\nSolid understanding of virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.\nUnderstanding of storage solutions (SAN, NAS, cloud storage) and backup systems.\nStrong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and firewalls.\nExperience with load balancers (F5, HAProxy, Nginx) and network monitoring tools.\nExperience in DNS management and troubleshooting.\nExperience in network security best practices.\nProficiency in monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk).\nProficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash) for automation.\nExperience with CI/CD pipeline management and DevOps practices.\nStrong understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.\nExperience with performance tuning and capacity planning.\nUnderstanding of chaos engineering principles and practices.\nSkills in cost optimization for cloud infrastructure.\nEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these
