Technology provides the foundation for everything we do in the company while driving differentiation through building and leveraging innovative technology and data insights.\nAs part of the Finance Technology Data Governance team, the Senior Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, migrating, deploying, and supporting scalable data and reporting solutions. They will also be responsible for enabling data governance across various finance applications.\nThe role requires strong hands-on experience in data engineering, cloud migration, data pipeline development, CI/CD, reporting, and production support. The engineer will work closely with business, product, and technology teams to modernize existing data and reporting platforms and deliver reliable, secure, and high-quality solutions.\n Design, develop, test, and support scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions.\nEnable Data Governance (data lineage, data quality rule enablement and reporting, anomaly detection, establishing controls) and Reporting on data assets across Finance Applications.\nLead and support data and application migrations from legacy platforms to cloud platforms, ensuring data integrity, reconciliation, performance, and stability. Design, develop, and support Apache Airflow DAGs/jobs for workflow orchestration and data processing.\nBuild and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate code builds, testing, deployments, and releases across environments.\nManage Git/GitHub repositories, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.\nDevelop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including data modeling, visualization, performance optimization, and report validation.\nSupport migration and modernization of reporting solutions, ensuring consistency of business logic, metrics, and reporting outputs.\nPerform source-to-target mapping, data validation, reconciliation, and performance optimization for migration and development activities.\nImplement automated testing, monitoring, error handling, and operational controls for data pipelines.\nTroubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and support timely resolution.\nFollow established Agile, DevOps, release management, security, and change management practices.\nCollaborate with engineering, product, business, and platform teams to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.\n Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience.\nStrong hands-on experience in data engineering, application development, and data migration.\nStrong understanding of Data Management principles and data Governance \nStrong experience with SQL, ETL/ELT, data modeling, and large-scale data processing.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as GCP and cloud-based data solutions.\nHands-on experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow orchestration tools.\nExperience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and supporting releases across environments.\nStrong experience with Git/GitHub, code reviews, branching strategies, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.\nHands-on experience with Power BI including dashboard/report development and reporting platform migration.\nExperience with Agile, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.\nEmployment eligibility to work with American Express in the United States is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these
