The split saw is responsible for the operation of a saw on a moving platform to split the beef from tailbone through the neck being careful to expose the spinal column of the beef.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSaw cattle on hydraulic lift; saw completely through the animal.\nIf the animal is tagged with a tag open the saw doors and rinse and sanitize the saw with 180-degree water.\nChange saws when needed; separate saws will be used for over 30 and under 30-month cattle.\nFollow safety procedures when changing saw blades\nNOTE: this description is not intended to be all inclusive. An employee may perform other related duties to meet the ongoing needs of the organization; these duties are considered marginal.\nQualifications\nMinimum Qualifications (Required):\nMust be 18 years of age or older.\nMust be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.\nMust be able to work in a humid, hot, wet, slippery, or moving surface at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrevious experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment.\nPrevious heavy machinery experience in manufacturing environment.\nPrevious agriculture production/ beef plant experience.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nBe attentive to detail.\nAbility to work safely, wear PPE, and follow instructions.\nAbility to attend work consistently.\nAlways be aware of your surroundings.\nFollow all safety, food safety, and Sanitary dress procedures.\nAbility to attend work consistently.\nAble to stand for lengthy periods of time.\nDisplay strong work ethic.\nPhysical Demands\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
