We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medication Technician to safely administer medications and provide quality care to residents in an assisted living and/or memory care community.\nPosition Summary\nThe Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications as permitted by state regulations, maintaining accurate records, monitoring resident well-being, and assisting with daily care needs. This role works under the supervision of the Wellness Director and helps create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for residents.\nKey Responsibilities\nMedication Administration\nAdminister medications safely, accurately, and on schedule in accordance with state regulations and community policies.\nDocument medication administration and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs).\nVerify resident identity before administering medications.\nReport medication concerns, refusals, errors, or changes to the appropriate supervisor.\nMaintain security of medication carts, narcotics, and medication keys.\nComplete narcotic counts at the beginning and end of each shift.\nResident Care\nObserve and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional condition.\nAssist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including:Personal hygiene and grooming\nBathing and dressing\nAmbulation and transfers\nToileting and incontinence care\nDining assistance and hydration support\n\nRespond promptly to resident requests and emergency call systems.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.\nCommunication & Documentation\nCommunicate resident updates and concerns during shift handoff.\nMaintain accurate and timely resident documentation.\nCollaborate professionally with nurses, physicians, hospice providers, home health agencies, laboratories, and family members.\nCommunity Engagement\nEncourage resident participation in social, recreational, and wellness activities.\nAssist with group and one-on-one activities to promote engagement and quality of life.\nCompliance & Safety\nFollow all infection control, safety, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance procedures.\nReport incidents, accidents, concerns, suspected abuse, or policy violations immediately.\nAttend required training sessions, meetings, and continuing education programs.\nQualifications\nSuccessful completion of a state-approved Medication Administration course or certification required.\nAbility to read, write, and communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.\nStrong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.\nMust be at least 18 years old.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious experience as a Medication Technician, Med Aide, or Certified Medication Aide.\nExperience working with older adults.\nAssisted Living, Memory Care, or Long-Term Care experience.\nKnowledge of dementia and related conditions.\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nWhy Join Us?\nCompetitive pay\nSupportive team environment\nOpportunities for training and career growth\nMeaningful work serving seniors and their families\nComprehensive benefits package for eligible team members\nApply today and become part of a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of seniors through compassionate care and exceptional service.\nCompany Overview\nFounded in 1979, American House Senior Living Communities’ vision is to provide high-quality housing for senior at a price affordable for retirees and their families.
