Reporting to the SVP, Data & AI Strategy, this role translates enterprise strategy and governance frameworks into working processes, tooling, and day-to-day practice across business domains.\nThe VP will work directly with business stakeholders, data stewards, analysts, data scientists, and engineers to implement governance standards, integrate external data, mature master data capabilities, and keep the data & AI portfolio running on schedule and visible to leadership.\nThis is a 100% in-office position. Candidates must be able to work on-site at a designated company office during standard business hours.\nOperating Principles\nAccelerate engineering and delivery\nDeploy repeatable processes with a light footprint\nBuild confidence and/or leave a trail (GitHub)\nEssential Responsibilities\nData Governance Execution\nImplement our recently defined enterprise data governance framework and operating model, adapting it to the realities of each domain\nMaintain and enforce data ownership assignments, standards, best practices, and quality processes; facilitate prioritization decisions; escalate gaps and conflicts to leadership and drive resolution\nDrive day-to-day adoption of governance practices within business domains (e.g., Policy, Claims, Finance, Pricing, Compliance)\nWork directly with data stewards, engineers, and analysts to build and maintain the centralized data dictionary and standardized business definitions\nEmbed governance checkpoints into existing business and technology workflows without adding friction to delivery\nExternal Data Integration\nExecute the enterprise external data strategy, including intake, evaluation, and onboarding of new sources\nManage relationships with data providers day to day; support the SVP on provider selection, negotiation, and renewal decisions\nCoordinate with data engineering to integrate external data into platforms and cloud environments on committed timelines\nEnsure external data assets are governed, documented, and monitored for quality and usage after onboarding\nMaster Data Management (MDM)\nBuild out and operate MDM capabilities for assigned core data domains under the enterprise MDM strategy\nImplement stewardship and lifecycle processes for master data; run the matching, survivorship, and remediation workstreams\nPartner with underwriting, claims, finance, and AI teams to connect master data capabilities to live use cases\nData and AI Program Management\nRun program management for strategic initiatives across the data and AI portfolio, including planning, tracking, and delivery\nOperate the standardized intake, prioritization, and delivery frameworks; recommend refinements based on what's working\nProduce regular status, risk, and outcome reporting for leadership and enterprise stakeholders\nCoordinate cross-functional execution across business, IT, data engineering, analytics, and data science teams\nSurface risks, dependencies, and resourcing constraints early\nQualifications/ Experience Required\n7+ years of experience in data strategy, data governance, data management, or a related discipline\n3-5+ years of people leadership experience managing teams or cross-functional workstreams\nDemonstrated experience delivering data governance or data management programs at enterprise scale\nExperience within insurance, financial services, or a related industry preferred\nWorking knowledge of master data management, data architecture, and modern data platforms\nCapabilities\nAbility to turn strategic direction into practical, repeatable processes that teams actually adopt\nStrong stakeholder management skills across business and technical audiences\nHands-on experience with data governance and data management tooling\nProven ability to drive complex, cross-functional programs to completion\nClear communication, strong organizational discipline, and comfort operating with a light footprint\nThe base salary range provided below is for hires in those geographic areas only and will be commensurate with candidate experience. Pay ranges for candidates in other locations may differ based on the cost of labor in that location.
