This individual will lead acquisition closing and transition activities from the signing of a letter of intent through closing and the first 30 days of ownership.\nThe ideal candidate combines strong project management discipline with operational and financial acumen and thrives in a fast-paced environment requiring proactive problem-solving, clear communication, and consistent follow-through. This role will report to our General Counsel.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nOwn the closing and transition process for assigned acquisitions from post-LOI through the first 30 days following close.\n\nDevelop and manage project plans, timelines, workstream trackers, risk logs, and closing checklists.\n\nCoordinate cross-functional workstreams across legal, finance, technology, people operations, and business operations.\n\nPartner with sellers and advisors to complete diligence requests, closing deliverables, and transition activities on schedule.\n\nLead status meetings, communicate progress, and escalate risks, delays, and decisions promptly.\n\nTranslate financial and operational diligence findings into actionable transition plans.\n\nMonitor key transaction items, including working capital, debt payoffs, purchase price adjustments, and transition costs.\n\nCoordinate Day 1 readiness across employees, systems, processes, customers, vendors, and other critical functions.\n\nSupport post-close stabilization and handoff to the portfolio performance team.\n\nMaintain organized deal documentation and improve closing playbooks, checklists, and templates.\n\nManage closing mechanics, including funds flow, wire coordination, signature packets, and final closing deliverables.\n\nTrack and secure required consents, licenses, permits, and contract assignments ahead of close.\n\nLead or support on-site diligence, pre-close, and post-close visits (travel required).\n\nUse and help build out internal systems and automations (e.g., Asana, Google Workspace, Slack) to make the closing process repeatable and scalable.\n\nWillingness to travel approximately 50-75% of the time, based on business needs.\n\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, or a related field.\n\n8+ years of experience in project management, M&A transactions, integration or transition management, operational consulting, or a related role.\n\nDemonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives under tight deadlines.\n\nExperience supporting acquisitions from post-LOI through closing and post-close transition.\n\nStrong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.\n\nFinancial and operational acumen, including comfort reviewing financial statements, working capital schedules, and business performance metrics.\n\nStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to create structure in ambiguous, rapidly changing situations.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nAbility to build trust and work effectively with executives, sellers, advisors, and cross-functional teams.\n\nProficiency with project management platforms such as Asana.\n\nWillingness and ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.\n\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience within private equity, a holding company, an acquisitive operating business, transaction advisory, or M&A integration.\n\nFamiliarity with lower-middle-market and founder- or family-owned businesses.\n\nExperience coordinating Day 1 readiness across multiple functional areas.\n\nExperience developing scalable transaction processes, playbooks, and templates.\n\nAdvanced degree or relevant project management certification.\n\nHigh ownership, sound judgment, and a bias toward action.\n\nCalm, collaborative, and solution-oriented approach under pressure.\n\nCOMPENSATION\nThe anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus and equity. Please note that compensation is determined based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, education, skills, and other qualifications specific to the role.\n$160K - $220K\n BENEFITS\nBenefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a company-matched 401(k), unlimited PTO, paid holidays, and paid parental leave.\nLOCATION & TRAVEL\nCandidates based in Austin, New York City, or the surrounding areas will be expected to commute to and work from our local office. Candidates outside of these regions may work remotely.
