Ability to work safely and follow instructions and project specifications.\nHIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED REQUIRED\nGeneral Description of Work Performed:\nApply specialized chemical-resistant linings,high-build epoxies,polyurethanes, and novolac phenolics to chemical storage tanks, process piping, structural steel, and secondary containment areas.\nSpecific Job Duties:\nUses heavy-duty industrial coatings like epoxies, polyurethanes, and zinc-rich primers, often requiring intense surface prep like sandblasting or abrasive blasting and heavy spray rigs.\nOperates under strict regulatory compliance (such as OSHA guidelines), hazardous dust controls, and specialized ventilation or respiratory protocols due to toxic fumes or abrasive media.\nClean and strip rust, old coatings, or scale using abrasive blasting (sandblasting) or high-pressure washing.\nUse commercial spray equipment, rollers, and brushes to apply high-performance epoxies, urethanes, and elastomeric coatings.\nAbility to accurately mix multi-part coatings according to exact induction times, pot life limits, and thinning ratios specified on product data sheets.\nWear full personal protective equipment (PPE) and build safe rigging or scaffolding to work at heights or in confined spaces.\nCapture and dispose of hazardous debris (such as blast grit) according to strict rules.\nSafely operate a Manlift, Scissor Lift, & Forklift.\nSafely operate grinders, scrapers, sand blasters, and paint sprayers.\nThe ability to climb ladders and work from scaffolding at elevated levels.\nApplies coating, primers and paints as well as working with solvents, paint thinners and other hazardous chemicals.\nAble to work in a confined space and adhere to the confined space compliance guidelines.\nUnderstand and follow plant safety rules and environmental programs of the Company\nAdhere to the AMPAC Quality, Safety, & Environmental (QSE) Manual\nUnderstand and comply with Company Policies / Procedures\nEssential Physical Requirements:\nLift 75 pounds\nClimb stairs and ladders\nBend at waist and knees\nTwist\nKneel\nSight - Read procedures and instruments & comprehend\nListen to machinery - (breakdowns and safety)\nWear safety glasses\nWear respirator\nWear rubber steel-toed boots\nClean-shaven\nSpeak clearly\nThis job description should not be construed to imply that these requirements are the exclusive standards of the position.
