This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of complex and high-profile transportation projects while mentoring junior staff and collaborating across disciplines. As a Project Engineer, you will perform technical design work, manage project components, and serve as a key liaison between clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate is self-driven, has a strong background in roadway and transportation engineering, and is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 4 years of related experience.\nResponsibilities\nPerform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for transportation and roadway projects.\nDevelop and oversee geometric design, maintenance of traffic, drainage, and signing/pavement marking plans.\nLead or support the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.\nDevelop and review 3D roadway models and related digital design deliverables.\nProvide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers and design technicians.\nEnsure quality control and compliance with applicable design standards and client requirements.\nCollaborate with clients, subconsultants, and internal teams on project coordination and technical issues.\nContribute to project scoping, scheduling, and proposal development as needed.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE required).\nRegistered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of employment.\nMinimum of 4 years of progressive experience in roadway or transportation design.\nStrong technical skills and proficiency with design software such as MicroStation, Geopak, and/or OpenRoads Designer.\nKnowledge of AASHTO and DOT roadway design standards.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to self-motivate and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
