This role is responsible for managing the design process from procurement through final design, coordinating between internal technical teams, contractors, and clients. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, technical design experience, and a deep understanding of the design-build delivery model.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design development for large-scale transportation infrastructure projects, particularly in a design-build environment.\nServe as the main liaison between internal design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure clear communication and alignment.\nManage design schedules, deliverables, and quality control processes to meet project milestones.\nOversee and coordinate work of multi-disciplinary design teams including roadway, structures, drainage, traffic, utilities, and environmental.\nParticipate in proposal development and support pursuit strategies for new design-build opportunities.\nMonitor budgets, design scope, and change management throughout the life of the project.\nEnsure compliance with agency standards and project requirements.\nMentor junior staff and foster a collaborative, solutions-oriented project culture.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license required.\n10+ years of experience in transportation engineering, with at least 4 years in a design management or lead design role.\nProven experience managing design for design-build or alternative delivery projects.\nStrong understanding of DOT standards and permitting processes.\nExcellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team
