This role is central to agency’s transition from on premises infrastructure to a Department of the Navy established virtual private cloud hosted on Flank speed Microsoft Azure.\nThe Cloud Architect will collaborate closely with government and contractor stakeholders to ensure secure scalable and compliant cloud architectures across unclassified and classified domains while maintaining uninterrupted operations during the multi-year cloud migration. This position requires deep expertise in cloud architecture cybersecurity integration enterprise IT modernization and Department of War compliance frameworks.\nResponsibilities\nArchitect and design secure cloud solutions within a Department of the Navy virtual private cloud hosted on Microsoft Azure Flank speed and Nautilus Tools\nLead planning and execution of migration from on premises systems to cloud environments while ensuring continuity of mission operations\nDevelop cloud architectures supporting NIPR SIPR and JWICS domains in coordination with government stakeholders\nDesign and maintain cloud networking identity access management storage and compute architectures aligned with Zero Trust principles\nIntegrate cybersecurity controls in accordance with Risk Management Framework\nNIST Intelligence Community Directive and Department of War policies\nSupport Assessment and Authorization activities including development of system security plans security assessment reports and plans of action and milestones\nCoordinate with enterprise architects cybersecurity teams application developers and operations teams to ensure interoperable and secure cloud services\nSupport cloud cost modeling usage tracking and optimization to meet government financial management requirements\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation including architecture diagrams system designs and standard operating procedures\nProvide guidance on cloud best practices automation scalability disaster recovery and high availability\nSupport transition activities ensuring required cloud skill sets are available throughout the contract lifecycle\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in computer science information technology engineering or related field or equivalent experience\nTop Secret with eligibility for SCI read-on prior to start\nMinimum eight years of enterprise IT experience with at least five years in cloud architecture and engineering roles\nDemonstrated experience designing and supporting enterprise cloud environments within government or highly regulated organizations\nExperience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of War organizations\nExtensive experience architecting solutions in Microsoft Azure enterprise environments\nExperience supporting hybrid cloud architectures integrating on premises and cloud systems\nStrong knowledge of cloud networking identity management security logging monitoring and automation\nExperience with cloud native services supporting collaboration application hosting and data platforms\nFamiliarity with Microsoft 365 cloud services including Outlook SharePoint Online Teams PowerApps and InTune\nStrong documentation and communication skills supporting technical and non-technical stakeholders\nExperience coordinating with government program offices cybersecurity officials and operational teams\nAbility to adapt quickly to evolving mission requirements and technical environments\nExperience supporting global enterprise environments including CONUS and OCONUS locations\nPreferred Experience:\nExperience with DoN, DoW, or LE application environments is preferred. \nCertifications\nMust meet Dow 8140.03 requirements.\nCISSP or Cloud+ or GICSP Certification preferred.\nCloud related certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent\nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $133,000.00/Yr. - USD $222,100.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
