Working directly with Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), competency leads, and program leadership, you will manage new and existing equipment and systems and develop hands-on technical expertise within a multidisciplinary team.\nResponsibilities\nBe responsible for hands-on testing, troubleshooting, installation, calibration, repair, and modification of equipment and systems. \nLearn new skills from senior scientists and engineers and develop into a local SME. \nManage design, procurement, and fabrication in support of instrument acquisition and life-cycle support.\nManage the end-to-end procurement process by identifying and qualifying vendors, obtaining quotes, and tracking purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of critical items.\nSolve technical problems in accordance with prescribed specifications. \nConduct laboratory and field work as a junior member of a multidisciplinary team. \nWrite standard operation procedures (SOPs), reports, and technical requirements. \nAssist in development, maintenance, and sharing of systems level knowledge within your functional area.\nAdjust plans to accommodate urgent requirements.\nWork safely in an environment that may contain electrical, chemical, physical, or machine hazards.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Physics, Engineering, or a related field (or High School Diploma / GED plus 6 additional years of directly relevant experience).\n5+ years of experience working as a physicist or as an electrical, mechanical, or related engineer.\nDemonstrated machining experience.\nDemonstrated computer aided design (CAD) experience.\nU.S. Citizenship and active Secret clearance at time of hire.\nAbility to obtain and maintain TS/SCI as required by the program.\nAbility to work 100% on-site with occasional travel \nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
