This position supports the creation of hardware designs, technical drawings, installation packages, and system integration solutions for IT hardware environments and other complex technical systems. The Hardware Engineer works with systems engineers, software engineers, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, installers, and program management to ensure hardware solutions are technically sound, properly documented, and effectively integrated into the overall system architecture. The role requires experience in drafting, IT hardware systems design, and integration of complex multi-component systems in support of operational and mission requirements\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, and document hardware solutions for complex technical and IT system environments.\nSecret Clearance\nBachelor's Degree\nPrepare and maintain hardware drawings, layouts, installation diagrams, rack elevations, interconnect diagrams, and other technical drafting products.\nSupport the design of IT hardware systems, including servers, storage, end-user devices, network hardware, peripheral devices, and supporting infrastructure components.\nDevelop hardware specifications, bills of materials, interface definitions, and installation guidance.\nSupport integration of hardware components into larger system architectures, ensuring compatibility across electrical, mechanical, network, software, and operational interfaces.\nCoordinate with systems engineering, network engineering, software engineering, cybersecurity, logistics, and operations teams to support end-to-end hardware solutions.\nParticipate in requirements analysis, design reviews, technical planning, and engineering trade studies.\nSupport hardware assembly, configuration, installation, integration, and test activities.\nAnalyze hardware-related technical issues and support troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action development.\nEnsure hardware designs and installation packages comply with applicable standards, customer requirements, and program constraints.\nSupport technical baseline management, engineering change documentation, and configuration control.\nPrepare engineering documentation, status reports, and technical recommendations for leadership and customers, as required.\nSupport lifecycle activities including modernization, technology refresh, deployment, maintenance, and sustainment.\nTHIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.\nSecret Clearance\nRelevant experience in hardware engineering, hardware design, drafting, or systems integration.\nExperience producing technical drawings, diagrams, and hardware documentation.\nExperience with IT hardware systems design, including enterprise or mission-focused computing and infrastructure components.\nExperience integrating complex hardware systems or subsystems in a technical environment.\nFamiliarity with engineering design processes, configuration management, and technical documentation practices.\nAbility to analyze hardware and integration issues and develop practical engineering solutions.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and implementation teams.\nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $135,000.00/Yr. - USD $165,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
