This role contributes to a large enterprise effort on a federal contract, focusing on ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of network systems. You will collaborate with senior team members and cross-functional IT teams to implement network solutions and troubleshoot issues effectively. Additionally, in this position you will:\nAssist in the management and maintenance of Cisco-based network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.\nMonitor network performance, identify issues, and implement troubleshooting measures to ensure optimal functionality.\nCollaborate with IT teams to support the integration of new network solutions and technologies.\nImplement network security measures to protect sensitive data and comply with federal standards.\nMaintain documentation related to network configurations, procedures, and operational standards.\nProvide support and guidance to junior network administrators and assist in their training and development.\nParticipate in capacity planning and network upgrade projects as needed.\nCoordinate with vendors for network equipment procurement and support services.\nEnsure adherence to SLAs and assist in reporting on network performance and incidents.\nStay updated on industry trends and best practices to contribute to network improvements.\nQualifications\nAs a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.\nMust have an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret with SCI eligibility or have an active Top Secret with SCI eligibility. \nWill be subject to a federal background investigation.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.\nMust hold a current 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)\nMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in network administration, with a focus on Cisco technologies.\nKnowledge of Cisco networking technologies, including CCNA certification or equivalent experience.\nFamiliarity with routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP) and basic network architecture principles.\nExperience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).\nBasic understanding of network security measures and familiarity with firewall technologies.\nExposure to VPN solutions and secure remote access technologies.\nUnderstanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) related to network operations.\nFamiliarity with cloud networking concepts (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.\nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $120,000.00/Yr. - USD $155,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
