As an employee-owner, you’ll take ownership of meaningful work, support critical customer objectives, and continue expanding your expertise in HPC storage and parallel filesystems.\nResponsibilities\nAs a Senior HPC Data Storage Engineer with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:\nAdminister and maintain high-performance storage supporting Linux-based HPC systems.\nManage storage capacity, quotas, data placement, utilization, and performance.\nMonitor and troubleshoot parallel filesystems, storage hardware, and related infrastructure.\nSupport SAN, NAS, archive, and other enterprise storage technologies.\nAnalyze storage performance and recommend improvements for HPC users and mission workloads.\nDevelop scripts and automation using Bash, Python, Perl, or similar tools.\nSupport system maintenance, upgrades, incident response, and technical documentation.\nApply required security, access control, and configuration management practices.\nCollaborate with HPC users, systems engineers, network engineers, cybersecurity personnel, and government stakeholders.\nProvide remote technical support to a counterpart at an alternate site as needed.\nQualifications\nCurrent Top Secret clearance withSCI eligibility\nAbility to obtain and maintain access to a Special Access Program.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field \n5-7 years of related experience supporting HPC, Linux systems, storage, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering. (or a Master's degree in related field and 2+ years of job-related experience)\n DoD 8140 IAT II level or higher certification (e.g., Security+ CE, SecurityX CE, etc.)\nExperience administering, monitoring, or troubleshooting aparallel filesystem such as Lustre, BeeGFS, GPFS, or a comparable technology.\nExperience supporting production Linux systems and enterprise storage, including SAN, NAS, disk arrays, or tape/archive systems.\nPractical scripting experience withBash, Python, Perl, or a similar language.\nWorking knowledge of Linux filesystems, storage administration, permissions, quotas, and networking concepts.\nAbility to diagnose system, storage, software, and performance issues.\nAbility to work effectively in a secure, controlled-access environment and communicate technical information clearly.\nHelpful Experience & Qualifications*\nRHCSA or RHCE certification\nExperience with Ansible, Git, monitoring tools, or infrastructure automation.\nProduction experience building, configuring, or administering Lustre or another parallel filesystem in an HPC environment.\nExperience using tools such as perf, strace, tcpdump, vmstat, or iostat for system and performance troubleshooting.\nExperience with SAN infrastructure, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, multipathing, NVMe, or high-speed networking such as InfiniBand.\nFamiliarity with filesystems such as XFS, EXT4, or ZFS.\nExperience supporting systems in a DoW classified environment.\n*Candidates do not need experience with every technology listed above. \nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $140,000.00/Yr. - USD $160,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
