American Systems is seeking a safety-experienced engineering professional to drive safety policy implementation and reviews within R&E.\nResponsibilities\nAs the Systems Safety Engineer, you'll be responsible for the following:\nYou'll be providing technical expertise working with DoW as a System Safety Engineer while applying MIL-STD-882E requirements and tasks to product lifecycle activities.\nReview program documents and provide input to DoW policy and guidance on System Safety and related Specialty Engineering field.\nProvide experience in demonstrable combination of on-the-Job and coursework related to System Safety Engineering.\nYou'll be providing technical expertise in software safety engineering, fuze safety, munitions and energetics safety or test range safety.\nLead and participate in Community of Practice and Working Groups meetings with services, civilian agencies, FFRDCs, Industry and Academia on system safety.\nQualifications\nBS in Engineering plus minimum of 10 years of engineering experience including System Safety Engineering.\nMS preferred.\nExperience supporting OUSW.\nMust have a current and active Secret Clearance, TS preferred.\nU.S. Citizenship Required for the purposes of obtaining/holding a U.S. security clearance.\nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners.
