You will help troubleshoot issues, assist in change management activities, apply patches, and perform routine system maintenance. You will participate in backup and restoration activities, support cybersecurity staff during incident response, and coordinate with vendors as needed. You will also assist with escalated end-user support and help maintain documentation and inventory for assigned systems.\nProvide end-user and system support for infrastructure platforms during core business hours, with rotational on-call participation as scheduled.\nUse monitoring and analytics tools to help maintain system performance and identify issues.\nCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure systems meet compliance and security requirements.\nFollow established change management procedures for hardware and software updates.\nAssist with hardware troubleshooting and coordinate repairs with vendors.\nContribute to evaluating new server hardware and software needs and support deployment activities.\nApply system hardening guidelines, maintain patch levels, and assist Cyber Security Specialists during incident response.\nSupport routine maintenance tasks and help maintain inventory records for servers, equipment, and software.\nFollow standard procedures for recurring operational activities.\nSupport backup and restore operations, assist with backup health checks, and help troubleshoot failed backups including database-related restores.\nManage assigned tasks and tickets, ensuring timely completion of incidents, changes, and service requests.\nMaintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational best practices.\nQualifications\nAs a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C), we will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.\n2-4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator supporting both Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) and Windows environments.\nExperience working in multi-platform environments and following established SOPs and technical guidance.\nStrong judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nUnderstanding of network protocols, cybersecurity fundamentals, and system performance concepts.\nExperience with system lifecycle management, patching, and routine updates.\nFamiliarity with automation or scripting tools (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible).\nExperience supporting cloud services or virtualized environments (VMware, Azure, AWS).\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks and collaborate with team members and stakeholders.\nExperience creating or updating documentation for configurations, procedures, or technical processes.\nFamiliarity with ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow for ticket and task management.\nWorking knowledge of the following tools and technologies:Operating systems: Red Hat Linux, Windows\nVM management: VxRail, VMware vCenter/vSphere\nOn-prem servers: HPE\nCloud platforms: Azure, AWS\nScripting: Bash, Python, PowerShell, Ansible\nNetworking basics: IP addressing, ACLs, DHCP, DNS\nPackage deployment: SolarWinds Patch Manager, SCCM, RedHat Satellite\nRemote management: vSAN, SAN tools, iLO/iDRAC\nMonitoring tools: Splunk, SolarWinds Orion\nBackup systems: Dell PowerProtect Data Manager (PPDM), Data Domain (DD)\nIdentity management: Active Directory (on-prem and Azure), Red Hat IDM, LDAP\nPIV and key management: RSA SecurID, Microsoft KMS, Corestreet HID, OCSP\nCollaboration tools: Teams, SharePoint, Exchange/Exchange Online\nTicketing systems: ServiceNow, Azure Active Directory\n\nMust be able to:Lift up to 25 lbs.\nBend, stretch, squat, kneel, to move equipment, set up workstations (projectors, TV screens, computers, servers, routers, printers, tools, etc.).\n\nMust be able to present acceptable identification for customer badging and site access, such as a REAL ID compliant driver license, U.S. Passport, or other approved document from the GSA Required Identification List.\nPay Transparency Statement\nAMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners.
