They must consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position.\nCORE FUNCTIONS:\nManage the homepage of ttnews.com, including selecting stories, determining placement, and duration of featured content.\nEdit stories using InCopy, organize them into appropriate queues, and publish them on the Drupal website.\nShare stories on social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.\nProofread print pages and provide final approval from the content managers’ desk.\nMonitor various news sources and social media platforms for relevant content related to Transport Topics.\nCreate and manage a weekly signoff grid for print pages.\nGenerate weekly assignments and email updates for the content managers’ desk.\nCollaborate with MIS and Marketing teams to monitor site performance, implement enhancements, and discuss content placement.\nProvide technical assistance and training to staff members as tools and processes evolve.\nWorks closely with Executive Editor and News Editor to ensure a smooth flow of stories across various platforms\nTroubleshoot technical, procedural, workflow, and style issues as they arise.\nBACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS:\nBachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.\nMinimum of five years of experience in web publishing and editing, preferably in a news organization.\nSupervisory experience, particularly overseeing a team of web editors, is highly desirable.\nProficient in digital content creation, editing, and web publishing using tools like Drupal and HTML.\nFamiliar with content management systems like Falcon, Adobe InCopy, and InDesign.\nStrong multitasking abilities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.\nProven track record of setting and achieving goals, providing clear instructions, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.\nA strong team player who can also work independently, highly organized, and detail oriented.\nADA QUALIFICATIONS:\nWork is sedentary and generally performed in an office environment.
