This is a unique opportunity to advance your career while playing a key role in developing EHS processes, programs, and culture from the ground up.\nBased at ABTC's Lithium-Ion Battery Recycling Facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center (TRIC) in McCarran, Nevada, you will partner with employees and leaders across all levels of the organization to promote a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Using a risk-based approach, you will drive employee engagement, support continuous improvement, and help foster a culture of safety and accountability.\nIn this role, you will develop, implement, and improve programs within ABTC's EHS Management System, with exposure to environmental permitting and compliance, regulatory inspections, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, construction safety, waste management, and safety program development. You will also support training initiatives, incident investigations, and corrective actions that reduce risk and improve operational performance.\nYou will help ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations while supporting ABTC's commitment to operational excellence, sustainability, and employee well-being. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow professionally while helping build a world-class EHS program in a dynamic startup environment, this role is for you.\nRequirements\nAssist in the development of an EHS management system in partnership with EHS leadership. Develop new procedures, inspections, trainings, or reports as needed\nActively work with site stakeholders to ensure that site and process changes result in improved controls of risks to health, safety and the environment.\nPerform audits and inspections, document results, and verify action and closure\nAnalyze event trends and use risk-assessment methods to identify continuous improvement projects that reduce injury, illness and environmental impact events.\nFacilitate investigations from a Learning Teams approach, ensuring worker involvement and that preventative actions address system causes and not just focused on individual behaviors\nParticipate in pre-job planning and verification of controls/safeguards before new, high risk, and non-standard work begins\nMonitor and administer EHS systems and tools used onsite (e.g., event reporting, action tracking, management of change, etc.)\nDeliver EHS Training and facilitate EHS Subcomittees with onsite teams\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health or related field or equivalent experience\n1-2 years work experience as an environmental, health or safety professional, preferably in a manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar workplace. Those with an internship with work experience as an environmental, health or safety professional, will also be considered.\nExperience working with cross functional teams effectively.\nExperience supporting EHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing change to reduce risk and improve outcomes\nExperience with hazard analysis methods, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicle safety, OSHA compliance, event/incident investigation and learnings, and corrective action management\nFamiliarity with industrial hygiene, industrial ergonomics, machine safety, environmental compliance processes\nAbility to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and deadlines\nExperience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 programs\nExcellent customer service skills\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Work, Power Point, Project, etc.)\nBenefits\nCompetitive salary \nCompany-sponsored health, dental, vision, and life insurance \nParental Leave\nCompany-sponsored Employee Assistance Program \nStock options \n401(K) \nFlexible paid time off \nExpected Pay Range\n$80k - $130k per year.\nCompensation for this position may vary based on a number of individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
