We're hiring the best engineers, designers, and builders to solve the hardest problem in America.\nAs the Head of Manufacturing Engineering, you will be responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of our building system - a proprietary kit-of-parts for building high-quality housing.\nWhat You'll Do\nThe factory is your product - you will own everything from factory layout, equipment procurement, and factory buildout to commissioning and optimization of the factory\n\nBuild and lead a team of engineers, manufacturing specialists, and technicians to design, build, and operate the manufacturing facility to produce our building system\n\nCollaborate with mechanical engineering and architecture teams to refine our kit-of-parts for manufacturability\n\nObtain and maintain all necessary certifications and approvals for the manufacturing facilities\n\nManage supply chain, quality, assembly, and delivery - work with company leadership to hire for these roles in the near future\n\nEstablish and track KPIs to understand how our engineering and manufacturing decisions are impacting the quality and cost of our buildings\n\nManage manufacturing budget, work with company leadership to project future capital requirements\n\nQualifications\n7+ years of experience in hardware development with 3+ years in a leadership role\n\nStrong technical background in mechanical design, structural analysis, DFMA, and production\n\nProven experience delivering large complex hardware products from low-rate prototypes to full-rate production\n\nAbility to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment\n\nExcellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills\n\nBachelor of Science or higher degree in a technical discipline preferred, not required\n\nCompensation\nThe overall cash compensation for this position ranges from $180,000 to $250,000.
