This role is responsible for executing the production plan, managing personnel, maximizing throughput, minimizing downtime, and ensuring product quality and safety standards are consistently upheld.\nThe Production Manager serves as the critical link between strategic production planning and frontline execution-directing, communicating, and actively managing operations in real time to ensure production goals are achieved. This position reports to the Plant Manager and directly oversees Production Leads and hourly team members.\nWhat You’ll Do\nTeam Leadership & Culture\nFoster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance team environment\nPromote open communication across shifts, teams, and departments\nSupport onboarding, mentoring, cross-training, and employee development\nPartner with HR on employee relations, performance management, and compliance\nProduction & Operational Execution\nExecute daily production plans using Theory of Constraints (TOC) principles\nActively manage line operations in real time, monitoring output, labor, quality, yield, and downtime\nIdentify bottlenecks and adjust staffing or workflow to maximize throughput\nTrack labor utilization, material waste, and overall production performance\nSafety, Quality & Compliance\nChampion a strong safety culture and enforce all safety SOPs (PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc.)\nConduct safety walks, meetings, and toolbox talks; address unsafe conditions immediately\nEnsure adherence to product specifications, grading standards, labeling, and SOPs\nInvestigate defects, resolve issues, and drive continuous process improvements\nEquipment, Performance & Facility Management\nTrack and analyze downtime; partner with Maintenance on root cause solutions\nMonitor recurring issues and support preventive maintenance efforts\nUtilize systems and reports to track performance and communicate key metrics\nMaintain clean, safe, and “visitor-ready” facilities and support audit readiness\n\nWho You Are\nEducation & Experience\nPrior experience in manufacturing, production management, or industrial operations required\nExperience in lumber, remanufacturing, or similar production environments preferred\nDemonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced, team-driven environment\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong leadership presence with the ability to direct and motivate teams\nOperational mindset with a focus on efficiency, throughput, and continuous improvement\nAnalytical problem-solver with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions\nSolid understanding of safety practices and compliance requirements\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, real-time environment\nStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments\nDetail-oriented with a commitment to quality and process consistency\nComfortable using production tracking systems, spreadsheets, and reporting tools\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here\n\nCompetitive compensation aligned with your experience\nStable, growing organization with a strong track record of success\nOpportunity to lead and impact daily plant operations\nCollaborative environment focused on continuous improvement and innovation\nClear path for professional growth within a diversified organization\nApplication Requirements\nFinal candidates may be asked to complete a practical or skills-based assessment as part of the selection process.\nIf you are a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about driving efficiency, safety, and quality, we encourage you to apply.
