You will coordinate order processing, resolve shipping exceptions, and maintain ongoing communication with shippers and carriers. Occasional travel by automobile and airplane may be required for business purposes.\nEssential Functions\nConsolidate, cube, and route orders to maximize service standards and margins.\nAssess carriers and determine the best routing solutions for orders.\nManage and review new customer orders and perform manual data entry when required.\nCoordinate with shippers' customer service representatives regarding exceptions, rush orders, and order changes.\nProactively resolve issues for customers, warehouses, and carriers and escalate to management as appropriate.\nManage carrier performance to maintain a minimum of 95% on-time delivery and solicit new carrier base as needed.\nMaintain ongoing communication with shipping facilities and carriers to ensure proper execution.\nOther essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.\nWhat Experience and Education You Need\nMinimum 2 years of transportation and dispatch experience required.\nCollege degree preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and AS/400 systems required.\nWhat Could Set You Apart\nEffective verbal and written communication.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks efficiently.\nAdaptability and initiative in dynamic environments.\nGeneral knowledge of national geography.\nAttention to detail in task management.\nAbility to make decisions and support outcomes.\nAbility to perform effectively under pressure in high-volume situations.\nCommitment to providing excellent customer service.\nPhysical Requirements\nRequires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, reaching, and/or bending.\nRequires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work, including the operation of computers, telephones, and similar equipment.\nRequires ability to comprehend and communicate with others, verbally and/or in writing.\nMay require travel by automobile and airplane for business.\nMay require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.\nMay require the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.\nAmericold is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
