You will participate in assigned training, maintain tools and machinery in operational condition, conduct tests of safety equipment, and maintain accurate preventive maintenance records. You will also perform housekeeping duties and related assignments as required.\nEssential Functions\nAssist with basic repairs and adjustments to warehouse equipment and infrastructure including doors, dock levelers, pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, and pallet trucks in accordance with OSHA standards.\nParticipate in all assigned training sessions as directed.\nClean, change, and lubricate bearings, gears, and other machinery parts using appropriate tools.\nMaintain tools, machinery, and shop areas in clean and operational condition.\nConduct tests of safety equipment such as exit signs, fire extinguishers, and sprinkler systems to ensure OSHA and operational standards are met.\nMaintain batteries and chargers in working order and keep accurate preventive maintenance records.\nPerform housekeeping duties and assist with answering security alarm calls as needed.\nOther essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.\nWhat Experience and Education You Need\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.\nBasic mechanical knowledge and aptitude required.\nMathematical and documentation skills required.\nBasic computer skills required including email, internet searches, and basic data entry.\nMay be expected to participate in HAZMAT responder training.\nWhat Could Set You Apart\nVocational or technical certification and training preferred.\nWillingness to learn and ability to comprehend qualifications to advance to a Tech 1 position within 2 years.\nPrior maintenance or mechanical experience preferred.\nAbility to clearly convey technical information to team members and supervisors and collaborate effectively in a team environment.\nAbility to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.\nAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.\nAbility to work flexible shifts, including on call.\nPhysical Requirements\nAble to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).\nAble to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.\nAble to work in confined areas.\nAble to climb ladders and stairs.\nAble frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.\nAble to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.\nAble to operate hand and power tools safely.\nAble to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)\nDepending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.\nAble to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.\nAble to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.\nAble to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.\nAmericold is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
