Responsibilities include setting up and monitoring refrigeration equipment, troubleshooting systems, replacing components, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. You will also oversee contractors, participate in operational excellence initiatives, and assist in training less experienced technicians.\nEssential Functions\nDefine and set up operational settings and parameters for all refrigeration equipment.\nMonitor system performance and take actions to ensure optimal operation.\nTroubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control systems to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.\nReplace components within refrigeration systems following safe lockout/tagout procedures and safety program requirements.\nPerform routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various warehouse equipment in accordance with OSHA standards.\nOversee and inspect work of internal and external technicians for compliance and quality control and assist in training and development of less experienced technicians.\nMaintain accurate preventive and predictive maintenance records and participate in operational excellence initiatives.\nOther essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.\nWhat Experience and Education You Need\nMinimum 5 years of industrial refrigeration maintenance experience.\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.\nCompletion of assigned industrial refrigeration and mechanical-electrical courses required.\nHAZMAT training and certification required.\nExperience troubleshooting and repairing control systems such as ALTA and Allen Bradley and maintaining records within a Computerized Maintenance Management System.\nWhat Could Set You Apart\nExperience working in a cold storage environment.\nRETA CIRO or CARO certifications.\nExperience using Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System.\nDemonstrated experience performing root cause analysis and component-level diagnostics on industrial refrigeration systems.\nExperience providing formal or informal technical training and mentorship to junior refrigeration technicians.\nPhysical Requirements\nAble to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).\nAble to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.\nAble to work in confined areas.\nAble to climb ladders and stairs.\nAble frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.\nAble to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.\nAble to operate hand and power tools safely.\nAble to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)\nDepending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.\nAble to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.\nAble to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.\nAble to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.\nThe Company’s good-faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting for this position is $26.00 to $38.75 hourly.\nAmericold is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
