This position communicates with internal as well as external customers to gather key requirements for the underwriting process, reviews for completeness and submits to insurance carriers and lenders for offers. In addition, this position supports the annual renewal process by communicating any requirements and supporting the process for additional premium fundings.Job DescriptionDuties/ResponsibilitiesCase Management\nOrder exams and attending physician statements (APS) as needed.\n\nTrack outstanding exams and APS requests, update Salesforce Chatter, and follow through to completion.\n\nDownload examination and APS records as they become available and organize them in the underwriting file.\n\nCreate AI-assisted summaries for the underwriting file in accordance with established review and confidentiality requirements.\n\nSupport the case manager in completing carrier applications and follow up efforts. \n\nMonitor each case throughout underwriting, help Regional Vice Presidents establish timeline expectations, and escalate issues to the Case Manager when needed.\n\nWork with carriers to issue policies.\n\nPrepare delivery requirements for DocuSign.\n\nDownload application kits and populate available information for Case Manager review.\n\nDraft informal and formal cover letters for Case Manager review.\n\nPolicy and Loan Renewals\nAssist clients with routine policy service requests throughout the year.\n\nPrepare service forms, including index transfer and owner or beneficiary change forms.\n\nPrepare, maintain, and track outstanding requirements and needs lists.\n\nAnnually review each client’s policy and loan and communicate requirements to the client.\n\nAssist clients with completing annual requirements to support timely policy funding.\n\nAssist with preparing annual client summaries that describe policy performance.\n\nAdministrative and Relationship Support\nMaintain organized underwriting files and SharePoint folders and enter case information and status updates in Salesforce and Salesforce Chatter.\n\nProvide administrative and project support to the Case Manager and underwriting team, including data entry, document preparation, file organization, and workflow follow-up.\n\nMaintain client and advisor relationships.\n\nMust be organized and detail oriented\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nLife insurance experience supporting case managers or medical underwriters in the policy life cycle\n\nAbility to process work accurately while meeting productivity, quality, and timeliness standards.\n\nAbility to manage workflows and follow departmental processes, procedures, and service standards.\n\nProficiency with data entry and policy administration applications.\n\nAbility to maintain complete underwriting files and prepare underwriting correspondence related to applications, policies, and endorsements.\n\nAbility to communicate with underwriters and brokers to obtain required documentation.\n\nCommitment to continuous improvement and customer service.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of three years of life insurance underwriting support experience in an agency or carrier environment.\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Office.\n\nExcellent attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.\n\nProactive, adaptable, and accountable approach to work.\n\nExperience with Salesforce and SharePoint is preferred.\n\nSalary\nSalary Range: $60,000 to $75,000\n\nSalary offers will vary commensurate with experience, education, skills, and training \n\nWhat AmeriLife OffersA comprehensive benefits package that includes PTO, medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, disability insurance, and life insurance.\nEqual Employment Opportunity StatementWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and value diversity at all levels of the organization.
