The ideal candidate is comfortable working with animals, thrives in a fast-paced veterinary environment, and is passionate about providing excellent patient care and client service.\nOur veterinary assistants play an essential role in supporting our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, patients, and clients. We are looking for someone who is a team player, pays attention to detail, communicates effectively, and takes pride in keeping our hospital running smoothly.\nResponsibilities\nSafely and confidently restrain animals for examinations, treatments, and procedures.\nAssist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care, treatments, and procedures.\nPrepare examination rooms between appointments and ensure rooms are stocked and ready for patients.\nObtain and document patient histories, including current concerns, symptoms, and relevant medical information.\nPrepare and draw up vaccines and medications as directed by the veterinary team.\nPerform blood draws and collect laboratory samples when trained and authorized.\nRun in-house diagnostics, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and other laboratory testing.\nAssist with patient intake, patient handling, and movement throughout the hospital.\nEducate clients on basic pet care, preventive health, and veterinarian-recommended treatments.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary hospital environment.\nClean and disinfect examination rooms, kennels, equipment, and treatment areas.\nMonitor patients and communicate concerns or changes in condition to the veterinary team.\nRestock supplies and help maintain an efficient workflow throughout the day.\nSupport fellow team members and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.\nProvide friendly, professional service to clients while demonstrating compassion for their pets.\nQualifications\n1+ Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred.\nComfortable handling and safely restraining dogs and cats of various sizes and temperaments.\nExperience with blood draws, sample collection, and in-house laboratory diagnostics preferred.\nStrong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.\nExcellent communication and client service skills.\nAbility to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently in a busy veterinary setting.\nPositive attitude, willingness to learn, and a strong work ethic.\nAbility to work collaboratively and step in to help team members when needed.\nPhysical ability to stand for extended periods and safely handle or lift animals and supplies as required.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nWe want someone who genuinely cares about animals and understands that excellent veterinary care takes a team effort.
