Working closely with the Director of Information Technology and IT staff, the intern will gain hands-on experience in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security threats while learning enterprise cybersecurity practices in a high-availability environment.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nAssist with monitoring network traffic, security alerts, and logs using security tools and platforms. \nSupport incident response activities, including triage, investigation, and documentation of security events. \nHelp identify, research, and prioritize vulnerabilities across systems, applications, and network infrastructure. \nContribute to maintaining and improving security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with industry frameworks. \nParticipate in the analysis of potential threats, suspicious activity, and security incidents.\nCollaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to ensure secure configuration and system deployments. \nStay current on emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and defensive technologies. \nAssist with compliance-related activities and security reporting as needed. \nMaintains upmost confidentiality. \nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications for the Position:\nCurrently enrolled in or recent completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or related field.\nBasic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNCs, DHCP, firewalls).\nExposure to cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001), preferred.\nFamiliarity with SIEM tools, endpoint protection or vulnerability scanning tools, preferred.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity principles, tools, or coursework.\nEntry-level certifications (ex. CompTIA Security+, Network+) are a plus but not required.\nAbility to work non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.\nCritical Competencies\nStrong curiosity and passion for cybersecurity.\nAbility to remain focused and composed in time-sensitive situations.\nTeam-oriented mindset with a willingness to take initiative.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nAbility to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nCompensation:\nThis is an hourly role that will pay $16.00 per hour. This is a part-time temporary position for the 2026-2027 season.\nWork Environment & Physical Demands:\nThis role operates in both office and stadium settings, requiring on-site presence during games and events. Live event coverage does consist of being around loud stadium noises and crowds. While performing job duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, reach, kneel and crouch.
