In this vital role you will provide technical leadership and engineering expertise for the planning, design, renovation, and delivery of civil and structural infrastructure supporting facilities, utilities, and capital projects. This role ensures designs are safe, compliant, constructible, reliable, and aligned with operational, business, and site requirements.\nThe Project Engineer partners with engineering disciplines, architects, project managers, facilities teams, EHS professionals, contractors, and external design firms throughout the project lifecycle. This position requires travel to project sites and organizational locations to support project development, design reviews, field assessments, construction activities, commissioning, and stakeholder engagement.\nServe as the technical lead for civil and structural engineering requirements, design standards, specifications, and project execution.\nDevelop and review civil and structural design criteria, calculations, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and engineering studies.\nSupport projects involving site development, grading, drainage, stormwater management, roads, parking areas, underground utilities, foundations, structural steel, concrete, and building modifications.\nEvaluate existing site and structural conditions; identify constraints, risks, and required remediation or reinforcement measures.\nReview engineering design packages for technical quality, code compliance, constructability, maintainability, safety, and alignment with project requirements.\nCoordinate with architectural, mechanical, electrical, process, environmental, and facility engineering disciplines to ensure integrated project solutions.\nLead technical aspects of capital projects from feasibility and concept development through detailed design, construction, commissioning, and turnover.\nTravel as needed to support site assessments, project meetings, design workshops, construction reviews, inspections, commissioning, and operational-readiness activities.\nProvide technical support during construction, including field observations, resolution of design issues, review of contractor submittals, and evaluation of change requests.\nEnsure projects comply with applicable building codes, structural standards, civil design requirements, permitting obligations, and environmental regulations.\nSupport the development and maintenance of civil and structural engineering standards, specifications, guidelines, and standard details.\nIdentify design risks, recommend practical mitigations, and support risk assessments associated with facility modifications, infrastructure reliability, and site conditions.\nSupport commissioning and turnover activities to confirm civil and structural systems meet intended-use and operational requirements.\nMonitor industry practices, codes, standards, and emerging technologies; incorporate relevant improvements into engineering standards and project delivery practices.\nProvide technical mentoring and subject matter support to project teams and less-experienced engineers.\nWhat we expect of you\nWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek is a leader with these qualifications.\nBasic Qualifications:\nDoctorate degree \nOR\nMaster’s degree and 2 years of civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering experience\nOR\nBachelor’s degree and 4 years of civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering experience \nOR\nAssociate’s degree and 8 years of civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering experience \nOR \nHigh school diploma / GED and 10 years of civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related engineering experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license in civil or structural engineering.\nAdvanced degree in civil engineering, structural engineering, or a related discipline.\nExperience supporting industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, research, or other regulated facility environments.\nExperience with structural assessments, seismic evaluations, existing-building modifications, and infrastructure renewal projects.\nFamiliarity with stormwater management, site permitting, geotechnical engineering, and construction-phase engineering support.\nExperience with relevant engineering software for structural analysis, civil design, or site-development planning.\nWhat you can expect from us\nAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
