The ideal candidate will have a solid background in financial controls, financial processes and statutory accounting principles and practices, with a proven track record of managing financial and accounting operations in a corporate environment. The Finance Manager will lead local accounting, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and regulatory standards and adherence to Amgen’s internal controls and policies. This role reports directly to the Amgen India Finance Site Lead.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nOversee the day-to-day local financial processes and controls including statutory accounting. Partner with global accounting to ensure appropriate general ledger and financial reporting for Amgen India site\nEnsure transactions aligned to local accounting principles\nEnsures fulfillment of company obligations/payments to third parties and Amgen employees according to local and corporate instructions\nFulfills all statutory accounting and reporting activities as well as local tax authorities’ requirements, in compliance with applicable legislation\nEnsures accuracy of tax forms presented to local authorities and timely payment of local taxes (VAT, CIT, local business taxes, etc)\nPrepare accurate local cash-flow forecast to ensure proper funding\nSupport payroll administration in partnership with local Human Resources (HR)\nPartner with Global Accounting team for period close including statutory accounting activities.\nAdherence to accounting calendar in coordination with global stakeholders\nCollaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and seek appropriate support to fulfill the requirements.\nSupport intercompany accounting processes in partnership with global stakeholders\nPlay a pivotal role in wider projects across Finance organization (e.g. S/4 HANA and Process Modernization/ Improvement)\nSupport Amgen’s continuous improvement agenda, where applicable\nContributes to a learning environment, supports the team growth and development, and enhances learning methodologies and technical tools where applicable.\nReviews accounting entries and supports account reconciliation process that Global Accounting performs for Amgen India.\nUnderstands local statutory requirements and ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory financial standards, including:Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)\nInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)\nGenerally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)\nForeign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA)\n\nFunctional Skills:\nMust-Have Skills:\nKnowledge of financial management and local accounting principles.\nProficiency in Finance and Accounting knowledge\nStrong understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements.\nExperience with ERP systems and financial software.\nExperience supporting finance and accounting operations.\nResourceful leader who can “connect the dots” across matrixed organization\nExperience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams and/or directing accounting activities\nGood-to-Have Skills:\nFamiliarity with the pharmaceutical industry.\nProficiency in data analytics and business intelligence tools.\nBusiness performance management\nAccounting and/or Finance transformation experience involving recent technology advancements\nPrior multinational capability center experience\nExperience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent leadership and team management abilities.\nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.\nHigh level of integrity and ethical standards.\nProblem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.\nAbility to influence and drive change.\nAdaptability to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.\nStrong organizational and time management skills.\nEducational Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.\nBasic Qualifications:\n Certified public accountant / Chartered accountant certification\nMaster's degree and 9 -
