This role is accountable for delivering innovative scientific, publications and medical content aligned to their designated Therapeutic Area / product (General Medicine, Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Disease, or Obesity), tailored to specific audiences globally via impactful formats and relevant channels.\nReporting to a Sr. Manager, Scientific Communications (Group Lead) in India, this role will work cross-functionally and globally to drive the execution of tactical Scientific Communication plans for US and global regions to deliver our Medical and overall product strategies.\nThe Scientific Communications Manager may directly partner with Global/US/Regional Medical planning team and Scientific Communications Operations team members to drive process alignment, standardization, and adoption of innovation and transformational change.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nDevelop and deliver high-quality, accurate, and innovative scientific and medical content (DSE/digital/MSL materials/FAQs/Medical Information Letters) tailored to specific audiences in the US and globally via impactful formats and relevant channels\nDraft and deliver high-quality and accurate publications (manuscripts/abstracts/posters/oral presentations, enhanced content) for scientific congresses and journals\nAddress complex Medical Information inquiries/escalations\nCreate content to facilitate interaction with payers and provide timely support for compendia submissions\nManage workflows and approvals through the appropriate processes and systems\nMaintain strong partnerships with the Scientific Communication Operations team in support of standardization of processes, optimizing systems, and furthering continuous improvement and innovation, including use of digital and multi-channel approaches, as well as tracking of impactful KPIs\nHelp drive the execution of the deliverables that are part of a dynamic, comprehensive scientific communication plan\nEnsure compliance with relevant Amgen enterprise and functional SOP(s) as well as relevant external guidelines and regulatory requirements\nDevelop, maintain, cultivate, and influence strong relationships with cross-functional colleagues\nBasic Qualifications and Experience:\nAdvanced scientific degree:\nDoctorate degree with 7+ years of relevant experience OR\nMaster’s degree/MBBS and 10+ years of Global Publication OR Medical Communications/Information OR Medical Value and Access OR Medical Strategy Experience OR\nBachelor’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience OR\nAssociate’s degree and 15 years of relevant experience\nFunctional Skills:\nMD, PharmD, PhD, or DO with a minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in Medical and Publications content development\nPrior experience in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development within the biopharmaceutical industry, and/or clinical or research in the therapeutic area\nAn understanding of the pharmaceutical commercialization process and knowledge of the regulatory and legal guidelines affecting promotion of prescription products\nExperience implementing publications guidelines and transparency standards (e.g., ICMJE, current Good Publication Practice (GPP) Guidelines)\nUnderstanding of Amgen focused disease area and landscape and clinical data to enable critical analysis of scientific literature and communicate implications cross-functionally\nDemonstrated track record of strategic execution in a matrix environment with limited supervision\nThe ability to work in teams and interface in a dynamic environment across corporate functions\nPreferred Skills:\nKnowledge of emerging technologies in scientific communications (e.g., AI tools, omnichannel & digital engagement platforms).\nStrong computer and database skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products\nSoft Skills:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work effectively with global, virtual teams\nHigh degree of initiative and self-motivation\nAbility to manage multiple priorities successfully\nCollaborative mindset with a strong sense of accountability and ownership\nAbility to drive continuous improvement and adapt quickly in a fast-evolving environment\nStrong project management with ability for self-direction\nAmgen is an Equal Opportunity employer and will consider you without regard to your race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.\nWe will ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided with reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment.
