Amgen’s Data Science organization is seeking a US-based Marketing Science Operations (MSO), Associate Director (AD) to serve as the US business-facing lead for BI and Data Engineering delivery within Marketing Science.\nThis role provides leadership for a distributed global team spanning analytics, business intelligence, marketing, and data functions. The AD is accountable for driving alignment, prioritization, and high-quality delivery across cross-functional BI and data engineering teams, along with external partners.\nThis role is responsible for advancing the analytics and BI landscape through innovation, scalability, and capability expansion. The AD will drive the integration of AI/ML-enabled analytics, automation, and next-generation data capabilities into core workflows, shaping the platform roadmap and enabling more predictive, data-driven decision-making. This role also establishes governance and standards to ensure sustainable growth and serves as the primary escalation point prior to Director involvement.\nThis is a high-visibility role requiring strong business acumen, operational rigor, and cross-functional leadership.\nThis is a Flexible Commuter role based at Amgen’s Thousand Oaks, CA or Deerfield, IL site, requiring on-site presence 1-2 days per week.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Business & Executive Leadership\nFrame KPIs and align metrics across Investment Analytics and Media Analytics initiatives. \nTranslate business priorities into structured analytical roadmaps. \nLead insight synthesis and ensure executive-ready delivery. \nServe as primary US stakeholder interface for BI workstream under MSO workstream. \n2. Portfolio Governance & Capacity Planning\nOwn portfolio prioritization and demand intake across Business Intelligence and Data Engineering workstreams.\nDrive quarterly capacity planning and resource forecasting. \nEnsure alignment between business priorities and delivery roadmaps. \nServe as first escalation layer before Director involvement. \n3. Tableau Platform & Team Leadership\nProvide functional leadership for the Tableau team (managers and analysts). \nDefine and own the Tableau roadmap aligned to business and enterprise strategy. \nEstablish governance standards for dashboard lifecycle, quality, and change management. \nPromote scalable design, self-service enablement, and performance optimization. \n4. Cross-Vendor & Cross-Geo Orchestration\nCoordinate delivery across ACCP, AIN, and offshore teams. \nEnsure clarity in roles, accountability, and execution standards. \nDrive transparency on delivery status, risks, and mitigation plans. \n5.
