At Amgen, if you feel like you’re part of something bigger, it’s because you are. Our shared mission-to serve patients living with serious illnesses-drives all that we do.

Since 1980, we’ve helped pioneer the world of biotech in our fight against the world’s toughest diseases. Amgen is advancing a broad and deep pipeline of medicines to treat cancer, heart disease, inflammatory conditions, rare diseases, and obesity and obesity-related conditions. As a member of the Amgen team, you’ll help make a lasting impact on the lives of patients as we research, manufacture, and deliver innovative medicines to help people live longer, fuller happier lives.

Our award-winning culture is collaborative, innovative, and science based. If you have a passion for challenges and the opportunities that lay within them, you’ll thrive as part of the Amgen team. Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career.

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role, you will lead the regional sales organization for UPLIZNA in Neurology (gMG and NMOSD), translating brand strategy into focused execution and delivering results through a high-performing team.

The Regional Sales Director (RSD) is accountable for the leadership, performance and development of the UPLIZNA Neurology sales organization across the assigned region. This leader will establish regional strategy, create clarity around priorities and expectations, and develop District Managers and field teams to execute with excellence. The RSD will operate as a senior commercial leader and strategic business partner, using market insights, customer understanding and cross-functional collaboration to identify opportunities, remove barriers and drive sustainable performance in a complex rare disease marketplace.

  • Lead the region as a business, translating UPLIZNA brand priorities into a focused regional strategy, clear execution imperatives, measurable standards and disciplined operating rhythms.
  • Deliver business results through others by equipping District Managers as force multipliers, setting clear performance expectations, using leading indicators to identify opportunities and risks early, and driving timely action and accountability.
  • Coach and develop District Managers through a consistent observe, diagnose, practice and follow-up approach that strengthens leadership capability, business acumen, coaching quality, decision-making and representative performance.
  • Build and sustain a high-performing, inclusive and compliant culture grounded in Amgen values, patient focus, operational excellence, accountability, scientific integrity and clear, credible leadership communication.
  • Attract, select, onboard, retain and develop future-ready talent; establish meaningful development priorities for leaders and maintain strong succession and bench plans for critical roles across the region.
  • Synthesize performance data, access dynamics, customer needs, competitive signals and field intelligence to generate decision-ready insights, identify root causes and dynamically adjust regional plans and resources.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of gMG and NMOSD, the UPLIZNA clinical profile, the treatment landscape and evolving customer and market dynamics, translating that understanding into relevant regional strategy and field direction.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders and provide visible leadership at priority regional and national congresses, conferences and other strategic customer engagements.
  • Lead with an enterprise mindset, appropriately and compliantly orchestrating Marketing, Market Access, Patient Services, Medical, Training, Commercial Operations, HR and other partners around shared brand and business objectives.
  • Anticipate, adapt and lead through change by monitoring early signals, clarifying what is changing and why, making thoughtful start-stop trade-offs, and keeping teams focused, aligned and accountable through ambiguity.
  • Allocate regional resources, operating expenses and program investments to the highest-priority opportunities, balancing patient impact, business performance, risk and established budget expectations.
  • Ensure all regional activities are conducted in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies and Amgen compliance, ethics and safety standards, reinforcing responsible performance and appropriate business conduct.
