This lab-based role supports the design, development, validation, and implementation of robust LC-MS/MS bioanalytical methods for therapeutic modalities including small molecules, oligonucleotides, proteins, and other complex molecular entities. The initial focus is to expand discovery-stage support within PKDM-BA, while maintaining flexibility to support GLP preclinical and regulated clinical activities as needed. The role will also contribute to modernization of automation and instrumentation to improve assay throughput and sensitivity, working closely with multidisciplinary research and development teams across Amgen.\nKey responsibilities include:\nPlan, execute, and document quantitative LC-MS/MS bioanalytical experiments.\nDevelop and implement fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods with rapid turnaround.\nPerform small- and large-molecule bioanalysis in nonclinical and clinical matrices, including plasma, urine, CSF, and tissues.\nPrepare biological samples using protein precipitation, solid-phase extraction, liquid-liquid extraction, affinity capture, and related techniques.\nOrganize, analyze, interpret, and present bioanalytical data with strong attention to data integrity and fidelity.\nMaintain complete, accurate, and concise documentation in electronic laboratory notebooks and other laboratory systems.\nEnsure data and records meet applicable regulatory expectations for global submissions and remain current with relevant industry guidance.\nAuthor and review study reports, analytical methods, SOPs, technical memos, and other regulatory-compliant documents.\nCommunicate bioanalytical results to discovery and development teams; contribute to publications and present findings at scientific meetings.\nSupport report quality control, effective time management, and clear cross-functional communication.\nFollow all safety, training, documentation, and site-specific procedural requirements.\nPerform routine laboratory housekeeping and operational support activities as needed.\nWhat we expect of you\nWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The scientific professional we seek is a key contributor with these qualifications.\nBasic Qualifications:\nDoctorate degree\nOr\nMaster’s degree and 2 years of relevant industrial/technical experience\nOr\nBachelor’s degree and 4 years of relevant industrial/technical experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPrefer Bachelor's or Master's experience\nPrior experience in CRO or pharma/biotech strongly desired\nStrong technical expertise in quantitative mass spectrometry on triple quadrupole (QQQ) platforms as well as HRMS\nExperience with an array of analytical technologies that can accelerate bioanalysis inclusive of automation and/or micro-sampling\nPrior GLP and GCP experience.\nDemonstrated expertise in working with a variety of sample types (e.g., blood, plasma, serum, tissues, cerebrospinal fluid).\nHands-on experience with automated or semi-automated sample preparation for LC-MS bioanalysis, including protein precipitation, SPE, affinity capture, and other high-throughput workflows, using platforms such as KingFisher APEX/FLEX, automated SPE systems, and robotic liquid handlers.\nPrior experience in bioanalytical (regulated) assay execution and transfer to CROs\nMust be willing to work in a fast-paced, multi-project environment with high workload demands, and consistently deliver high-quality results within established timelines.\nDemonstrated ability to resolve scientific challenges efficiently and prioritize effectively\nExcellent scientific problem-solving skills\nExcellent project and time management abilities\nAbility to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders\nSupervisory and mentoring experience in a lab-based setting\nWhat you can expect from us\nAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for your professional and personal growth and well-being.
