SENIOR ASSOCIATE, WAREHOUSE PLANNING & MASTER DATA

What you will do

In this vital role you will support planning and operational readiness for the ANC Warehouse by providing rigorous capacity modeling, external warehouse planning, and master data management. You will help the organization make timely, data-driven decisions that enable safe, compliant, and reliable material availability for manufacturing and patients.

The Senior Associate, Warehouse Planning & Master Data reports to the Senior Manager of the ANC Warehouse organization within Supply Chain. This role is accountable for developing and maintaining warehouse capacity models including logistics across other Amgen warehouses, planning local external warehouse requirements, and managing warehouse-related master data to enable accurate planning and execution.

The successful candidate will work closely with Planning, Warehouse Leadership, Procurement, Site Industrial Engineering, Global Master Data, and AIN teams. The role requires strong analytical discipline, collaboration, and a curiosity for learning and applying AI-enabled tools to simplify modeling, improve data quality, and reduce manual work.

Drive Warehouse Capacity and External Warehouse Planning

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve warehouse capacity models across relevant storage types, material flows, receiving, shipping, and operational constraints.
  • Translate manufacturing plans, inventory strategies, and material requirements into clear warehouse capacity scenarios, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Support planning and management of external warehouse capacity, including demand projections, storage requirements, inventory movements, and associated operational readiness.
  • Partner with Warehouse Leadership, Planning, Procurement, and Industrial Engineering to evaluate material flow, layout, storage utilization, and future capacity needs.
  • Provide timely analysis to support operational decisions, capital planning, network discussions, and site readiness activities.
  • Establish and maintain capacity planning assumptions, standard work, and recurring reporting to ensure consistent, transparent decision-making.
  • Identify constraints and opportunities to improve warehouse utilization, material flow, service levels, and execution reliability.
  • Support cross-functional problem solving for material availability, space constraints, inventory disposition, and warehouse execution issues.
  • Communicate warehouse capacity outlooks, external warehouse plans, risks, and required actions clearly to site and network stakeholders.

Own Warehouse Master Data and Digital Capability

  • Manage and maintain warehouse-related master data in partnership with Global Master Data, AIN, and site teams, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely change execution.
  • Perform data quality checks and resolve master data issues that affect warehouse capacity, storage assignments, material movement, planning signals, or execution.
  • Define and document data standards, ownership, and governance routines for warehouse master data and planning inputs.
  • Learn and apply AI-enabled tools and methods to streamline capacity modeling, scenario analysis, reporting, and data validation.
  • Identify practical opportunities to reduce manual analysis and reporting through automation, digital tools, and reusable models.

Footprint / Scope of Responsibility

  • Provide analytical and planning support for ANC warehouse capacity and external warehouse requirements, from current-state operations through future demand scenarios.
  • Serve as a key site contact for warehouse master data and data-quality matters, coordinating with Global Master Data and AIN teams.
  • Enable aligned decisions across Warehouse, Planning, Procurement, and Industrial Engineering through reliable models, structured analysis, and clear communication.
  • Support a safe, compliant, and scalable warehouse operation by improving visibility to capacity, material flow, and master data risks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school/GED + 4 years Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems work experience OR
  • Associate’s + 2 years Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems work experience OR
  • Bachelor’s + 6 months Supply Chain, Warehouse Operations, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems work experience OR
  • Master's

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, manufacturing, logistics, or other GMP-regulated environment.
  • Experience with warehouse capacity analysis, inventory management, material flow, warehouse operations, or external warehouse planning.
  • Experience working with master data in SAP, an ERP system, warehouse management systems, or planning tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to build, maintain, and explain capacity models and scenario analyses.
  • Experience collaborating across Warehouse, Planning, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, and/or Digital and Technology functions.
  • Ability to learn and apply AI-enabled tools, automation, or advanced analytics to improve modeling, reporting, or data quality.
  • Knowledge of warehouse storage types, utilization, receiving, shipping, and material flow principles.
  • Strong attention to detail, data governance discipline, and ability to identify and resolve data-quality issues.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to operational and leadership audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data visualization or reporting tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI); experience with SAP, Kinaxis RapidResponse, or similar systems is preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, compliance, and patient-focused operational excellence.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
