The ideal candidate will be responsible to design, develop, and optimizedata pipelines, data integration frameworks, and metadata-driven architectures that enable seamless data access and analytics. This role prefers deep expertisein big data processing, distributed computing, data modeling, and governance frameworks to support self-service analytics, AI-driven insights, and enterprise-wide data management.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and maintainscalable ETL/ELT pipelines to support structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data processing across the Enterprise Data Engineering for Biotech or Pharma functional knowledge of R&D.\n\nImplement real-time and batch data processing solutions, integrating data from multiple sources into a unified, governed data fabric architecture.\n\nOptimizebig data processing frameworks using Apache Spark, Hadoop, or similar distributed computing technologies to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.\n\nWork with metadata management and data lineage tracking tools to enable enterprise-wide data discovery and governance.\n\nEnsure data security, compliance, and role-based access control (RBAC) across data environments.\n\nOptimizequery performance, indexing strategies, partitioning, and caching for large-scale data sets.\n\nDevelop CI/CD pipelines for automated data pipeline deployments, version control, and monitoring.\n\nImplement data virtualization techniques to provide seamless access to data across multiple storage systems.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including data architects, business analysts, and DevOps teams, to align data engineering strategies with enterprise goals.\n\nStay up to date with emerging data technologies and best practices, ensuring continuous improvement of Enterprise Data Fabric architectures.\n\nMust-Have Skills:\nHands-on experience in data engineering technologies such as Databricks, PySpark, SparkSQLApache Spark, AWS, Python, SQL, and Scaled Agile methodologies.\n\nProficiencyin workflow orchestration, performance tuning on bigdata processing.\n\nStrong understanding of AWS services\n\nExperience with Data Fabric, Data Mesh, or similar enterprise-wide data architectures.\n\nAbility to quickly learn, adapt and apply new technologies\n\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills\n\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills\n\nExperience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Agile delivery practices, and DevOps practices.\n\nGood-to-Have Skills:\nGood to have deep expertisein Biotech & Pharma industries\n\nExperience in writing APIs to make the data available to the consumers\n\nExperienced with SQL/NOSQL database, vector database for large language models\n\nExperienced with data modeling and performance tuning for both OLAP and OLTP databases\n\nExperienced with software engineering best-practices, including but not limited to version control (Git, Subversion, etc.), CI/CD (Jenkins, Maven etc.), automated unit testing, and Dev Ops\n\nEducation and Professional Certifications\nMaster’s degree and 3 to 4 + years of relevant Computer Science, ITor related field experience OR\n\nBachelor’s degree and 5 to 8 + years of relevant Computer Science, ITor related field experience\n\nAWS Certified Data Engineer preferred\n\nDatabricks Certificate preferred\n\nScaled Agile SAFecertification preferred\n\nSoft Skills:\nExcellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.\n\nStrong verbal and written communication skills\n\nAbility to work effectively with global, virtual teams\n\nHigh degree of initiative and self-motivation.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities successfully.\n\nTeam-oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals.\n\nAbility to learn quickly, be organizedand detail oriented.\n\nStrong presentation and public speaking skills.\n\nReady to Apply for the Job?\nWe highly recommend utilizingWorkday's robust Career Profile feature to complete the application process.
