In this vital role you will lead the design, optimization, and reliability of systems and equipment that power the delivery of high-quality, life-changing therapies.\nComplete complex or novel assignments requiring development of new and/or improved engineering techniques and procedures.\nDevelop engineering policies and procedures that affect multiple organizational units.\nSupervise, coordinate and review work contractors/suppliers on an ongoing basis as well as on a project basis.\nEmploy advanced engineering techniques and/or modifications of advanced techniques within area of engineering expertise.\nApply knowledge of engineering principles and practices outside of area of discipline expertise to broad variety of assignments in related fields\nServes as a peer-recognized engineering technology specialist in the area of chilled water and HVAC, with overall responsibility for determining methodologies in that area.\nApplication of mature engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects.\nOperate under a culture of problem solving and continuous improvement.\nWork with global engineering, manufacturing, process development, utilities, facilities, quality assurance and validation departments in developing requirements and recommendations for large and/or highly complex system/facility modifications.\nWork with project managers to complete design and engineering projects within schedule, budget and quality constraints. Coordinate the work of consultants, architects and engineering firms on development of standard design documents.\nDevelop departmental budgets or project budgets encompassing multiple disciplines for area within project or entirety of smaller project.\nDevelop technical solutions to complex problems requiring the regular use of resourcefulness and creativity.\n·Interacts optimally with variety of communication and working styles.\nManagement of contractors and vendors.\nWhat we expect of you\nWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The Senior Engineer professional we seek is an individual with these qualifications.\nBasic Qualifications:\nDoctorate degree in Engineering\nOr\nMaster’s degree in Engineering and 2 years of Engineering and/or Mfg Support experience\nOr\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering and 4 years of Engineering and/or Mfg Support experience\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEducational background in Engineering.\nDeep knowledge in Clean Utilities Gases and HVAC.\nExperience working with FDA Water Regulation\nExperience on Regulatory Audits at GMP level.\nExperience supporting Capital Project from URS to Validation.\nKnowledge in CCMS - MAXIMO - MMP.\nWorking knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech processes.\nSpecialized industrial chilled water and HVAC systems expertise.\nFamiliarity with validation and documentation processes in a highly regulated environment.\nAbility to operate specialized equipment and computers as appropriate.\nAbility to interpret and apply GMPs.\nAbility to apply engineering science to improvements and troubleshooting.\nAble to develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.\n·Demonstrated skills in the following areas: problem solving and applied engineering, basic technical report writing, validation Protocol writing, dealing with and managing change, technical (equipment specific), analytical problem solving, computer literacy, schedule development, facilitation, collaboration, basic project management and completion and follow-up\nIn-depth knowledge of commissioning/validation processes as applied to new equipment installations.\nAbility to balance multiple projects at one time.\nAbility to provide solutions to a large variety of technical problems of moderate to large complexity and scope.\n·Problem solving skills based on scientific and engineering theory, calculations, and creativity.\nSkills in the development of hypotheses and approach.\n·Working knowledge of financial analysis tools.\n·Working knowledge in energy conservation projects and savings estimates\nWhat you can expect of us\nAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates’ professional and personal growth and well-being.\nIn addition to the base salary, Amgen offers a Total Rewards Plan comprising health and welfare plans for staff and eligible dependents, financial plans with opportunities to save towards retirement or other goals, work/life balance, and career development opportunities including:\nA comprehensive employee benefits package, including a Retirement and Savings Plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental & vision coverage, and life & disability insurance\nA discretionary annual bonus program, or for field sales representatives, a sales-based incentive plan\nStock-based long-term incentives\nAward-winning time-off plans and an annual site shutdown\nFlexible work models where possible.
