Teachers can finally differentiate instruction with evidence and ease, and students get the 1:1 practice they specifically need, whether they are excelling or working below grade level. \nTrusted by more than 2,000 districts and working in partnership with twelve state education agencies, Amira is helping 3.5 million students worldwide become motivated and masterful readers. \nJob Duties:\nDesign, implement, and own complex backend systems end-to-end, including system architecture, integration points, performance optimization, and scalability across multiple services and data platforms. \n\nDesign and operate large-scale data pipeline architectures and backend services using AWS technologies, including Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue, and S3. \n\nBuild and maintain backend APIs and distributed data workflows within a cloud-native architecture, with emphasis on modern development practices, including AI-assisted practices. \n\nWork across Node.js, Python, .NET, and SQL platforms to implement services and data pipelines that deliver actionable insights and support data-driven features. \n\nTranslate product and business requirements into technical system designs, evaluate tradeoffs, communicate risks and constraints, and guide implementation across cross-functional teams. \n\nImplement AI-assisted development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and system-level productivity improvements.\n\nDesign and implement reusable AI-assisted workflows, tools, and shared prompt libraries to improve development efficiency and code quality, and integrate them into CI/CD and code review processes. \n\nOversee technical output, delivery flow, and overall system-level effectiveness. \n\nLead technical design and development, participate in design and code reviews, propose architecture improvements, and support ongoing system evolution. \n\nCollaborate with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams to define scope, prioritize work, and deliver high-impact technical solutions. \n\nMentor teammates in AI-assisted development practices and refine team processes to reduce bottlenecks. \n\nThis is a fully remote position; telecommuting is permitted, and the employee may work from anywhere in the United States.\n\nJob Requirements:\nMaster’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related field; and \n\nThree (3) years of experience in a related occupation designing, developing, testing, and implementing software and machine learning solutions in production environments. \n\nThis is a fully remote position; telecommuting is permitted, and the employee may work from anywhere in the United States.
