The role focuses on data modeling, migrations, vector search and generative AI retrieval pipelines, and collaboration with application engineers to improve the computing environment. Responsibilities Working with the team to design and maintain the application's Postgres data model on AWS RDS, including schema design, indexing strategy, and query optimization Writing and reviewing SQLAlchemy models and queries, and developing Alembic migrations that run cleanly across environments Supporting the vector search and similarity search capabilities behind the application's generative AI features Helping build and maintain ingestion and embedding pipelines that integrate with AWS Bedrock, with inline verification and validation Supporting data flows for both structured relational data and unstructured document content Contributing to CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins and CloudBees Working within GitHub repositories and the team's code review process Evaluating data models and making optimization recommendations as usage and data volume grow Working within AWS GovCloud cons
