For more information visit amkor.com.\nPosition Summary:\nAmkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced facilities Controls System Engineer, responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of facility control systems for Amkor’s OSAT factory. This includes PLC, and SCADA platforms supporting HVAC, ultrapure water, wastewater treatment, gas and chemical systems, and life safety systems. The role ensures reliable, efficient, and safe operation of automated control systems throughout the project lifecycle.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nResponsibilities will evolve throughout the project lifecycle, ranging from design and commissioning to full-scale operations, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to each phase.\nCollaborate with instrumentation and controls design vendors to ensure system requirements are met.\nReview engineering drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress.\nSupport commissioning activities, including equipment preparation and operational testing.\nIdentify and resolve abnormalities during construction and start-up phases.\nManage documentation, manuals, and handover processes for control systems.\nProvide engineering support for operation and maintenance of PLC and SCADA systems.\nRespond to facility interruptions across HVAC, process systems, UPW, WWT, gas and chemical systems, and life safety systems.\nConduct root cause analysis and trend evaluations for facilities-related incidents.\nModify control logic and programming to enhance system performance and prevent recurrence.\nDevelop and maintain an instrument calibration program for transmitters, control valves, and positioners.\nPerform system capacity planning, troubleshooting, and sustaining activities to meet production demands.\nPartner with operations and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and reliability.\nApply reliability engineering principles, including FMEA and root cause analysis, to improve system performance.\nEnsure compliance with safety standards, codes, and corporate control system guidelines.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation & Controls Engineering, or related field.\n3+ years of experience in facilities control systems engineering (design and operations), preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.\nStrong understanding of PLCs, SCADA systems, PID controllers, and variable frequency drives.\nAbility to read and interpret P&ID drawings and engineering specifications.\nFamiliarity with HMI operator interfaces and industrial communication protocols.\nProficiency in MS Office and engineering tools.\nStrong analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.\nProfessional Engineering License (PE) is a plus.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.\nRegularly lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust heavy objects.\nExposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.\nMust be medically qualified to wear a respirator.\nAbility to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.\nLocation:\nThis position will be based at the Peoria, AZ site, working from temporary offices during the construction phase and transitioning to the facility upon the start of factory operations.\nAmkor is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
