For more information visit amkor.com.\nPosition Summary:\nAmkor Technology Arizona is seeking an experienced facilities Fire Protection Engineer, responsible for the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of fire protection systems for Amkor’s OSAT factory. This includes fire suppression systems, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, clean agent systems, and integration with life safety systems. The role ensures compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and corporate standards while maintaining a safe environment for semiconductor manufacturing operations.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nCollaborate with fire protection design consultants to ensure system requirements and specifications are met.\nReview fire protection drawings, submittals, and monitor construction progress.\nSupport commissioning activities, including functional testing and system validation.\nIdentify and resolve abnormalities during construction and start-up phases.\nManage documentation, manuals, and handover processes for fire protection systems.\nProvide operational and maintenance support for fire suppression systems, alarms, and emergency response systems.\nEnsure compliance with NFPA codes, local fire regulations, and corporate safety standards.\nPerform system capacity planning, troubleshooting, and sustaining activities to meet facility requirements.\nPartner with operations and maintenance teams to optimize fire protection system performance.\nConduct system evaluations and implement improvements through capital and expense projects.\nMaintain accurate documentation for operational and maintenance procedures.\nSupport fire safety audits, inspections, and emergency drills.\nProvide on-call support in a 24/7 high-volume manufacturing environment.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.\n8+ years of experience in fire protection system design and operations, preferably in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing.\nStrong understanding of NFPA codes, fire suppression systems, and life safety standards.\nAbility to read and interpret fire protection drawings and specifications.\nFamiliarity with Fire Alarm systems, sprinkler systems, and alarm integration.\nProficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Bluebeam.\nStrong analytical, decision-making, and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience in semiconductor facility design, construction, commissioning, and start-up.\nProfessional Engineering License (PE) or NICET Fire Protection Certification is a plus.\nKnowledge of ISO standards and emergency response planning.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to work in various weather conditions and awkward positions.\nRegularly lift up to 50 lbs. and adjust heavy objects.\nExposure to sharp, hot, and cold equipment.\nMust be medically qualified to wear a respirator.\nAbility to climb ladders, work at elevation, and in confined spaces with PPE.\nLocation:\nThis position will be based at the Arizona Tempe and Peoria sites during the Construction phase and will transition to Peoria for management during the Factory Operation phase.\nAmkor is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
