The role will offer exposure to a variety of work from day one of the case which will include initial investigations. Thereafter, the role will be to manage those cases until they are ready to be transferred to a claims handler for future conduct).\nKey Responsibilities\nconsidering liability by assessing evidence and establishing responsibility\nestablishing contact with all parties and maintaining pre-legal communications\nevaluating each claim and pro-actively obtaining quantum documentation\nhelping to manage incoming post on cases prior to their transfer to the claims handling teams\nsending Letters Before Action (LBAs) to third parties; these are standard letters which are held on a case management system\nassessing and collating any relevant documentation to support the claim\nsubject to experience, the role may include handling of discreet elements of our claims portfolio through to closure\nmaking appropriate use of telephone and litigation\nmaintaining client relationships e.g. informing them on the progress of a claim and taking new instructions over the phone, by email or letter and liaising with them where appropriate to help document the claim\ncarrying out general administration to include archiving, billing, case management\nmaintaining case files in accordance with office procedures\ncontinuing support for claims handlers as appropriate\ninputting of data and general system updates as required\ncarrying out any other duties that are in keeping with the role\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nideally, a minimum of 3 months’ recent experience in legal, insurance, claims handling or customer service roles.\nprevious experience in using a case management system is ideal however, not essential\nconfidence with IT systems to include Microsoft Word and Excel\nKey competencies you will need:\nthe ability to prioritise well and produce a high standard of work in a volume environment, sometimes under pressure, whilst maintaining accuracy and good attention to detail\nstrong organisational skills whilst maintaining team processes and procedures\na pro-active approach in documenting and handling tasks and cases\nthe ability to cope and respond to sudden client demands\ngood communication skills, good telephone manner and the ability to discuss and negotiate matters on the telephone\nan analytical, problem solving approach\nBenefits, Agile Working and Additional information\nWe embrace agile working and offer a blended approach to where and how we work.\nWe appreciate that people have different needs and preferences and we’re keen to be flexible, after all, we value what you do, not where you do it.\nWe have hubs in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Leeds, Leicester, London, Lincoln, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Nottingham, Southampton, Stratford-upon-Avon, Sheffield & Tunbridge Wells.\nDo you want to check out our amazing benefits?\nAdditional information:\n Please be aware, for some vacancies, where we receive high numbers of applications we may need to bring the close date forward.\n\nDue to the nature of the work undertaken, confirmation of employment will be subject to a variety of checks which will be carried out once an offer of employment is accepted.
