The Area Manager serves as the primary field leader responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and quality execution of all subcontracted work while maintaining alignment with project schedules, budgets, and client expectations.\nThis position plays a critical role in coordinating multiple subcontractors, resolving field issues, driving productivity, and ensuring successful project delivery.\nWhat You'll Do\nKey Responsibilities\nLead all field construction activities within an assigned power block or designated area of the project.\nManage and coordinate all subcontractors performing civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and specialty work within the assigned area.\nEnsure subcontractor compliance with contract requirements, project specifications, quality standards, and site safety policies.\nMonitor daily construction progress and productivity to ensure achievement of schedule milestones.\nConduct daily coordination meetings and communicate priorities, work plans, constraints, and safety expectations.\nIdentify and resolve field execution issues, conflicts, and resource constraints to minimize schedule impacts.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, quality, safety, procurement, commissioning, and project controls teams.\nVerify subcontractor manpower, equipment, material readiness, and work performance.\nTrack and report progress, productivity metrics, risks, corrective actions, and forecasted completion dates.\nPromote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA requirements, company standards, and client expectations.\nSupport quality inspections, punch list resolution, turnover activities, and system completion requirements.\nReview subcontractor work plans and ensure construction activities are executed according to approved procedures.\nParticipate in client meetings and provide updates regarding assigned area performance and progress.\nAssist in evaluating change orders, field directives, and subcontractor claims related to assigned work areas.\nWhat You'll Bring\nQualifications\nHigh school or GED required.\nMinimum 15 + years of construction experience with at least 10 years in a supervisory or area management role.\nExperience on power generation, combined-cycle, simple-cycle, renewable energy, industrial, or large-scale EPC projects.\nProven experience managing multiple union subcontractors in a complex construction environment.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural construction practices.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, schedules, and contracts.\nStrong leadership, planning, communication, and problem-solving skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software platforms.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nDemonstrated ability to lead diverse crews and subcontractor organizations.\nStrong focus on safety, quality, and execution excellence.\nAbility to prioritize work in a fast-paced construction environment.\nEffective conflict resolution and decision-making capabilities.\nStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and accountability.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to work in active construction environments and outdoor conditions.\nFrequent walking, climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating uneven terrain.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all site safety requirements.\nWhat You'll Get\nCompetitive Compensation \nWeekly Pay \n401(k) Retirement Plan \nHoliday Pay \nPaid Time Off (PTO) \nComprehensive Health Coverage \nPet Insurance \nEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) \nProfessional Development Opportunities \nTuition Assistance \nEmployee Discount Program \nEqual Opportunity Employer\nAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment and will not be discriminated against on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, sex (including gender, pregnancy, sexual orientation, and/or gender identity), age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, and/or any other basis protected by applicable federal, state or local law.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability and protected veteran status.
