As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and project managers who design, build, maintain, and upgrade high-voltage transmission infrastructure that supports the backbone of the electric grid. You’ll gain hands-on experience with both traditional engineering methods and the latest industry innovations, helping deliver sustainable, cost-effective, and reliable solutions for our customers.\nWhat You'll Do\nAssist engineers with all aspects of overhead transmission line design, including PLS-CADD modeling, line routing, and structure analysis. \nSupport drafting and mapping using AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or similar software. \nImplement engineering redlines and ensure drawing accuracy. \nPerform basic engineering calculations, such as sag-tension analysis and pole loading checks, under supervision. \nHelp prepare documentation, reports, and design packages for project deliverables. \nCollaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop and refine engineering solutions. \nParticipate in design reviews, field data collection, and technical meetings. \nMaintain organized records of design data, drawings, and project notes. \nWork approximately 40 hours per week during the internship period. \nWhat You'll Bring\nRequired Experience and Education:\nPursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. \nPreferred Experience and Education:\nCoursework or familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS, or PLS-CADD. \nBasic understanding of design codes and standards such as NESC, IEEE, ANSI, and IBC. \nSkills:\nStrong attention to detail and interest in power delivery systems. \nAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. \nExcellent organizational and communication skills. \nWillingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced engineering environment. \nWhat You'll Get\nAs an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience, mentorship from industry professionals, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to real projects.
