This role will join the AMPAM team as a part of our Coastal Fire & Integration Systems acquisition.\nPosition Summary\nThe Fire & Low-Voltage Service Technician is responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, commissioning, and service of commercial fire alarm, access control, CCTV, intrusion, structured cabling, and other low-voltage systems. This position responds to scheduled service calls, preventive maintenance inspections, emergency service requests, and warranty work while providing exceptional customer service and ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable codes and manufacturer requirements.\nThe Service Technician works closely with the Service Manager, Service Coordinators, customers, Project Managers, and other technical personnel to resolve system issues and maintain long-term customer relationships.\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\nService & Maintenance\nPerform preventive maintenance, inspections, testing, and service on commercial low-voltage systems.\nDiagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain:Fire alarm systems\nAccess control systems\nCCTV systems\nIntrusion systems\nStructured cabling\nTelephone systems\nData networks\nAudio-visual systems\nOther integrated low-voltage systems\n\nPerform emergency service calls and scheduled maintenance visits.\nIdentify equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.\nReplace defective devices, equipment, wiring, and system components as required.\nVerify systems are restored to proper operating condition before leaving the job site.\nFire Alarm Systems\nInspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair commercial fire alarm systems.\nPerform functional testing of:Initiating devices\nNotification appliances\nControl panels\nPower supplies\nMonitor modules\nControl modules\nAnnunciators\nVoice evacuation equipment\n\nSupport fire alarm commissioning and acceptance testing.\nTroubleshoot EST fire alarm systems (EST3/EST4 experience preferred).\nEnsure work complies with NFPA 72, manufacturer requirements, and local AHJ requirements.\nSecurity & Access Control Systems\nService and troubleshoot:Card access systems\nElectric strikes\nMagnetic locks\nDoor contacts\nRequest-to-exit devices\nCCTV systems\nIntrusion systems\nPanic buttons\nIntercom systems\n\nConduct maintenance and operational testing of door hardware and electronic locking systems.\nProgram or configure equipment when required.\nVerify proper communication between integrated security systems.\nNetwork & Low-Voltage Systems\nInstall, configure, and troubleshoot IP-enabled devices including:Wireless access points\nNetwork cameras\nAudio-visual equipment\nAccess control controllers\nNetwork switches\n\nTroubleshoot structured cabling and network connectivity issues.\nTest copper and fiber cabling where applicable.\nVerify proper communication between networked devices.\nCustomer Service\nCommunicate professionally with customers regarding system status, repairs, and recommendations.\nReview completed work with customers prior to leaving the site.\nProvide customer instruction on system operation and functionality.\nRecommend repair or upgrade options when deficiencies are identified.\nMaintain positive customer relationships through professional service and communication.\nDocumentation\nComplete accurate service tickets documenting work performed, equipment serviced, deficiencies identified, materials used, and labor performed.\nObtain customer review and electronic or written sign-off before leaving the customer site.\nUpload completed service documentation promptly.\nMaintain accurate inspection reports, testing records, deficiency reports, and service documentation.\nDocument programming changes, equipment replacements, and system modifications.\nSafety\nFollow all Coastal Fire & Integration Systems safety policies and procedures.\nComply with OSHA regulations, General Contractor safety requirements, and customer site rules.\nProperly wear required personal protective equipment.\nMaintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.\nReport unsafe conditions, incidents, and injuries immediately.\nOperate ladders, lifts, and testing equipment safely.\nHousekeeping\nMaintain professional housekeeping standards on all customer sites.\nKeep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris throughout the service visit.\nProtect customer property and minimize disruptions during service activities.\nProfessional Development\nParticipate in manufacturer training and continuing education.\nMaintain current knowledge of fire alarm, access control, security, and networking technologies.\nObtain and maintain required certifications.\nStay current on applicable codes and industry best practices.\nQualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nTechnical training in electronics, electrical systems, or low-voltage systems preferred.\nExperience\nMinimum 2 years of experience installing, servicing, troubleshooting, and integrating commercial fire alarm and low-voltage systems.\nExperience servicing commercial fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.\nExperience with IP-based systems and network-connected devices preferred.\nExperience with EST3 or EST4 fire alarm systems preferred.\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nWorking knowledge of:Fire alarm systems\nAccess control systems\nCCTV systems\nIntrusion systems\nStructured cabling\nTelephone systems\nData networks\nAudio-visual systems\n\nAbility to install and configure IP-enabled devices.\nAbility to troubleshoot low-voltage cabling and network communication issues.\nKnowledge of NFPA standards, fire alarm codes, and life safety systems.\nStrong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.\nExcellent customer service and communication abilities.\nStrong organizational and documentation skills.\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and mobile service software.\nAbility to work independently while managing multiple service calls.\nStrong work ethic, integrity, professionalism, punctuality, and dependable attendance.\nPreferred Qualifications\nNICET Fire Alarm Systems certification.\nManufacturer certifications for Edwards/EST, Brivo, Kantech, Genetec, Lenel, or similar systems.\nOSHA 10 certification.\nExperience with commercial integrated security systems.\nExperience with IP networking and structured cabling.\nLicenses & Other Requirements\nValid California Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.\nAbility to pass required background screening and drug testing.\nAbility to travel throughout assigned service territory.\nAbility to participate in an on-call rotation if required.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and climb throughout the workday.\nAbility to climb ladders, scaffolding, and operate aerial lifts.\nAbility to
