Electricity demand is skyrocketing, driven by AI factories, electric vehicles, and modern industrial growth. Energy supply is shifting to incorporate a more diverse mix of resources - including solar, gas, and batteries - at a massive scale.\nAnd yet the power infrastructure behind our latest mega-projects hasn’t meaningfully changed in nearly 100 years. Supply chains for today’s infrastructure equipment can’t match the pace and sophistication of critical energy projects. Amperesand is building hardware and software that rewrites this broken power infrastructure playbook to support a new era of energy abundance.\nWe’ve built a new class of intelligent, software-defined power infrastructure products leveraging a decade of advanced medium voltage Solid State Transformer research that’s now ready for commercial deployment.\nOur products and solutions go far beyond the capabilities of traditional electrical equipment. We make power systems that are faster to deploy, dramatically smaller and more efficient, and capable of supporting modern, dynamic energy needs for tomorrow’s most demanding energy consumers.\nScalable in-house advanced manufacturing capability is our foundation for meeting timeline and quality expectation to serve infrastructure customers around the world.\nAmperesand is led by breakthrough energy hardware development veterans and funded by top tier investors who share our vision of building a category-defining energy technology company.\nWith hubs in San Francisco, Reno, and Singapore, our global team is laser focused on building foundational technology to solve the most pressing problems in power infrastructure at scale.\nJoin us in building the power foundation of the future!\nInternship Session: Fall 2026 \nAbout The Role\nAmperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer (SST) systems. SSTs are far more than transformer replacements - they unlock advanced capabilities for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations.\nTo support this mission, Amperesand is building a modern ERP and manufacturing operations software platform that gives our internal teams and external stakeholders real-time visibility, control, and intelligence across the business. We are looking for a motivated intern who wants to build production software across the full stack while learning from a high-agency startup engineering team.\nThis internship is an opportunity to work hands-on with a startup engineering team building the ERP and manufacturing platform that powers Amperesand's operations. You will contribute across both frontend and backend, helping ship new features, improve reliability, and bring AI-enabled capabilities into our internal tools.\nYou will work closely with engineers, product owners, and internal and external stakeholders who rely on our proprietary ERP and manufacturing ecosystem every day. This is a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment where you'll be expected to take ownership of real, production-facing work.\nWhat You'll Do\nBuild and support full stack features for our internal ERP and manufacturing operations platform, spanning Go backend services and TypeScript/React frontend applications.\nHelp design and implement new AI-enabled features that improve how internal and external stakeholders interact with the platform.\nSupport observability and metrics efforts, including instrumenting services, building dashboards, and improving system visibility.\nImprove CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to increase release speed and reliability.\nCollaborate with backend, frontend, and product teams to define APIs and data contracts.\nAssist in troubleshooting and resolving issues raised by internal and external users of the ERP and manufacturing ecosystem.\nWrite clean, well-tested, maintainable code and participate in code review.\nDocument features, architectural decisions, and processes for cross-functional stakeholders.\nBring a customer-oriented, team-first mindset to a fast-paced startup environment.\nWhat You'll Bring \nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.\nExperience with Go for backend development (coursework, personal projects, or prior internship experience).\nExperience with TypeScript and React, including component-based development and state management.\nExposure to AI/LLM concepts or hands-on experience with model training, fine-tuning, or applied AI tooling.\nBasic understanding of REST APIs and client-server architecture.\nFamiliarity with Git and collaborative development workflows.\nStrong communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nSelf-motivated, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment.\nAvailable to work on-site.\nBonus Qualifications\nExperience with observability or metrics tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).\nExperience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).\nExposure to ERP, MES, or other manufacturing/industrial software systems.\nExperience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, or end-to-end).\nPrior internship or project experience supporting customers or external stakeholders.\nInterest or coursework in energy systems, power electronics, or industrial automation.\nOpen-source contributions or personal projects demonstrating full stack ability.\nExperience with AWS (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, or similar cloud services).\nPlease note: This role requires working on-site 5 days a week. We do not offer hybrid or remote options. \nWhile this role is listed for the location above, we may consider candidates in other locations on a case-by-case basis.\nOnsite Collaboration Rationale:\nGiven the highly collaborative and cross-functional nature of hardware, embedded systems, and product development, in-person partnership across engineering and product teams is critical to enabling rapid execution, technical alignment, and successful development outcomes.\nWhy Join Amperesand\nWork on next-generation power infrastructure systems\nHigh ownership and visibility\nCross-functional collaboration\nOpportunity to shape future products and infrastructure\nFast-moving startup environment\nPay Disclosure & Benefits\nCompensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. \nThe benefits outlined below apply exclusively to employees located in the United States:\nCompetitive Salary + Incentive Stock Options \nMedical, vision, and dental benefits for employees and their dependents, effective from the start of hire \nCompany paid Basic Life, AD&D, short-term and long-term disability insurance \n401k retirement savings plan through Empower \nEmployees receive paid time off (PTO), paid sick days, and paid company holidays \nCommuter Benefits \n100% paid maternal leave (12 weeks) and paternal leave (6 weeks) \nThe benefits outlined below apply to employees located in Singapore:\nCompetitive Salary + Incentive Stock Options\nGroup medical, hospitalisation and surgical insurance, outpatient or GP coverage, group term life, dental and personal accident insurance\nEmployer and employee Central Provident Fund contributions in accordance with the CPF Act (for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents)\nAnnual leave, paid sick leave, hospitalisation leave, and all Singapore public holidays, in line with or exceeding the Employment Act\nCommuter Benefits\nGovernment-paid maternity, paternity, shared parental, and childcare leave in accordance with prevailing Singapore statutory entitlements \nAdditional benefits may be available depending on the role and employment type.
