If you want to work on hard problems that matter, alongside people who care deeply about the mission (and each other), we'd love to meet you.\nAbout the role\nThe Billing Manager will own a book of client accounts and the team that runs them. This isn't a role where you inherit a fixed team and keep it running. You'll need to be equal parts people manager, operator, and trusted advisor, working in concert with your peers to build best practices, document processes, and drive efficiencies. You need the judgment to staff and restaff a team as your book changes; the discipline to run fair, consistent 1-on-1s, and performance conversations; the coaching instinct to grow the leaders who report to you, not just the billers on the floor; and enough command of your clients' data to speak to it with real authority.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn your client portfolio\nManage a book of client accounts, sized by complexity rather than a fixed count\n\nStaff and restaff each account with the right mix of billers and specialists as the book changes\n\nServe as the escalation point above your Team Leads for claim, staffing, and client issues\n\nDeliver on production and quality expectations\nSet and track production and quality targets across your portfolio\n\nRun regular production and quality reviews with your Team Leads\n\nDecide whether a slipping metric is a coaching issue, a staffing issue, or a product issue, and route it accordingly\n\nAct as a trusted RCM advisor\nSpeak to your clients' workflows, A/R, denial trends, and performance with real authority\n\nBe the person a client turns to for an answer, not just an update\n\nManage and coach your people\nRun formal 1-on-1s and performance conversations with billers, up to and including terminations\n\nCoach and develop the Team Leads who report to you into stronger leaders, not just the billers on the floor\n\nIdentify and develop future Team Lead and senior biller talent\n\nCollaborate across RCM Ops\nWork in concert with peer Billing Managers to build best practices and document processes\n\nDrive efficiencies across the broader team, not just your own book\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n8+ years of leadership experience, including meaningful time directly managing billing or RCM teams in healthcare RCM\n\nDeep RCM domain knowledge: fluent on denial management, A/R aging, payer behavior, and reimbursement trends\n\nExperience staffing and scaling a team to match a changing book of business\n\nExperience managing offshore teams, including performance management across geographies\n\nComfortable owning multiple client relationships and multiple direct/indirect reports at once\n\nExperience with leading PM systems (ModMed, NextGen, Athenahealth, or similar) and payer portals\n\nDirect, clear communicator, comfortable delivering hard feedback and handling escalations\n\nAbility to work US hours (9am-6pm ET)\n\nOur Values\nLead with Empathy - Great products and teams are built on empathy-whether for our customers, users, or team members.
