Ampersand has developed an electric solution that is more powerful, fun to drive, and cost-effective than the incumbent. Ampersand drivers routinely earn over 30% more income by going electric.\nThe company started in Kigali, Rwanda, and expanded into Nairobi, Kenya in 2022. Today it has around 6,000 e-motorcycles on the road and 60 battery swap stations across the two countries. This role ensures adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and contributes directly to maintaining high standards of battery reliability and safety across Ampersand operations.\nKey responsibilities\nService, diagnose, and repair electric motorcycle batteries in accordance with Ampersand Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nConduct routine and preventive maintenance activities to maximize battery lifespan and performance.\nEnsure all batteries meet Ampersand’s quality and safety standards before being released for use.\nIdentify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, mechanical, or software-related issues within battery packs.\nSupport root-cause analysis for recurring battery issues and recommend corrective actions.\nEnsure proper handling, storage, charging, and movement of batteries according to safety guidelines.\nMaintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace, including tools, workstations, and equipment.\nParticipate in regular team meetings, maintenance reviews, and performance discussions.\nReport any safety hazards, equipment defects, or abnormal battery behavior immediately.\nMinimum requirements:\nDegree/Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or related technical field.\nMinimum of two (2) years of experience in electrical/automotive service operations.\nSound technical knowledge of motorcycles, EV systems, and repair processes.\nExperience resolving escalated customer or technical issues with professionalism and empathy.\nGood communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, with problem-solving skills\nSelf-driven and proactive, with a positive attitude and commitment to customer satisfaction.\nJob location\nThis role will be
