This paid, remote 10-week internship offers the chance to make a real impact on products used by millions of students and teachers.\nIf you’re comfortable with machine learning, data modeling/applied AI and are genuinely passionate about making learning better for teachers and students, then this role could be a fit for you! The ideal candidates will love digging into large datasets, bring a collaborative, ask-questions-first energy to your work, and feel excited to build intelligent systems that move the needle for K-12 learners.\nThough remote, interns will join a 2-day in-person experience at Amplify HQ in Brooklyn, NY. Throughout the program, interns will engage with Amplify's culture via product demos, team-building activities, and engagement initiatives, plus grow through a virtual speaker series featuring Amplify executives, additional product demos, and dedicated mentorship.\nWhile our summer intern roles are remote positions, interns must be authorized to work in the US, reside in the US for the internship's duration, and be available full-time for the entire program, June 7 - August 13, 2027.\nKey responsibilities may include:\nSupport development, testing, and evaluation of AI/ML models powering Amplify's educational products\n\nHelp identify opportunities to apply AI/ML to personalized learning, content recommendations, and student outcomes\n\nAssist with data collection, cleaning, feature engineering, and model validation across structured and unstructured datasets\n\nContribute to documentation, technical reports, model performance analyses, and research presentations\n\nTrack and analyze model outputs to spot patterns, anomalies, and optimization opportunities\n\nJoin product demos and Data Science/Product Manager meetings to build knowledge of Amplify's AI-driven products\n\nWhat we can offer you:\nDirect experience with AI/ML tools and frameworks used in EdTech\n\nReal-world challenges affecting educators, students, and families\n\nCollaboration with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams\n\nContributions to meaningful AI research and model development in a mission-driven environment\n\nMentorship from industry professionals at the forefront of AI in education\n\nExposure to Machine Learning, NLP, Adaptive Learning, and AI Ethics\n\nHands-on training in a fast-paced, agile environment\n\nBasic Qualifications for this Amplify Internship:\nEducation: Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, returning to school in Fall 2027\n\nFull-time availability to participate from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nAbility to synthesize information, identify themes, and communicate insights clearly\n\nKnowledge of and interest in the K-12 education technology field\n\nPreferred Qualifications for AI Scientist Interns:\nWorking knowledge of Natural Language Processing (NLP), large language models (LLMs), or generative AI applications\n\nExperience with data analysis, statistical modeling, or AI/ML research projects - academic or professional\n\nInterest in AI ethics, responsible AI, adaptive learning systems, or AI-driven personalization\n\nFamiliarity with Python, R, or SQL; experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus\n\nExposure to AI research tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), or data visualization platforms\n\nAmplify is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
