This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in workplace safety, regulatory compliance, facilities management, and manufacturing operations.\nWorking closely with the Senior Facilities & EH&S Manager, the Coordinator will assist with safety initiatives, employee training, facility inspections, compliance activities, contractor coordination, and day-to-day facility support. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, enjoys working in a dynamic environment, and is interested in building a long-term career in Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or Operations.\nFunctions:\nConduct routine safety and facility inspections, including fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, eyewash stations, spill kits, and other EH&S equipment.\nSupport EH&S compliance activities and assist with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety program requirements.\nAssist with accident, incident, and near-miss investigations and corrective action follow-up.\nSupport new employee safety orientation and other EH&S training initiatives.\nParticipate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), risk assessments, GEMBA walks, and safety observations.\nAssist with contractor and vendor coordination, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements.\nSupport hazardous waste handling, storage inspections, chemical inventory management, and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) administration.\nAssist with emergency preparedness activities, fire drills, and evacuation exercises.\nMaintain safety records, inspection reports, training documentation, and compliance files.\nAssist with maintaining adequate supplies of safety equipment and materials.\nIdentify safety concerns and recommend corrective actions.\nAssist with day-to-day facility operations across office, manufacturing, warehouse, and common areas.\nSupport facility maintenance activities, including coordinating repairs, workspace setup, furniture installation, and facility improvement projects.\nPerform basic facility maintenance and upkeep activities, including minor repairs, painting, furniture assembly, ceiling tile replacement, and general building support.\nAssist with office moves, workspace setup, and site logistics projects.\nSupport shipping, receiving, and facility logistics activities as needed.\nAssist with maintaining facility supplies, maintenance materials, and inventory.\nLearn to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as required.\nTravel between AMSC facilities (Ayer and Westminster) to support EH&S and facility activities as needed.\nPerform other duties and special projects as assigned.\nEducation - Experience:\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering Technology, Operations, Facilities Management, Business, or a related field preferred.\nTechnical school, trade school, military experience, internships, co-ops, or relevant coursework will be considered.\n0-3 years of experience in EH&S, facilities, manufacturing, operations, maintenance, construction, or related fields.\nRecent graduates are encouraged to apply.\nRequired Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:\nStrong interest in Environmental Health & Safety, Facilities Management, or Operations.\nWillingness to learn OSHA regulations, safety programs, and regulatory compliance requirements.\nHands-on mindset with the willingness to assist with facility maintenance and operational support activities.\nGeneral understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and basic construction or manufacturing practices preferred.\nStrong organizational and communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and prioritize multiple assignments.\nGood interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse group of employees, contractors, and vendors.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to read and interpret basic technical documents, safety procedures, and operating instructions.\nAbility to identify facility and safety concerns and recommend solutions.\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments.\nValid driver's license required.\nAbility to obtain forklift certification.\nOSHA or EH&S-related certifications are a plus but not required.\nFully onsite position.\nAbility to travel approximately 10-15%.\nU.S. Citizenship Required.\nAMSC is
