Is seeking a Materials Planner at our AMSOIL Columbus Ohio location! \nWhy this role matters:\nThe Materials Planner plays a vital role in keeping AMSOIL’s production running smoothly by ensuring the right materials are available at the right time and meet required specifications. By coordinating supplier deliveries, anticipating shortages, and balancing inventory with production needs, this role helps prevent disruptions, reduce excess inventory, and protect working capital. As a key link between suppliers and internal teams, the Materials Planner supports reliable operations and consistent service to customers.\nScheduled hours: Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm\nWhat you will own:\nManage material planning and replenishment activities to ensure uninterrupted production and optimal inventory levels. \nConvert demand forecasts, production schedules, and inventory targets into actionable purchase orders and supplier schedules. \nMonitor supplier performance, material availability, and inventory health, proactively addressing shortages, delays, and supply risks. \nCollaborate with Production, Strategic Sourcing, Inventory Control, Quality, Engineering, and Operations to support business objectives and maintain supply continuity. \nMaintain planning parameters, master data, and inventory policies to drive accurate material requirements planning (MRP) outputs. \nLead supplier execution activities, including delivery scheduling, expediting, issue resolution, and performance reviews. \nSupport new product launches, engineering changes, supplier transitions, and phase-in/phase-out initiatives. \nIdentify opportunities to improve inventory performance, reduce excess and obsolete materials, and strengthen supply chain resilience. \nParticipate in cross-site planning initiatives and continuous improvement efforts to standardize and enhance planning practices.\n\nWhat you bring:\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field required.\n2+ years of materials planning, supply chain planning, purchasing execution, supplier management or comparable manufacturing supply-chain experience.\nERP/MRP proficiency and strong understanding of material requirements planning.\nAPICS/ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification desirable but not required.\n\nInternal/External relationships & Impact on Services/Operations:\nInternal/External Relationships: \nDaily interaction with Materials Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Inventory Control, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Production Planning, Warehouse Operations, Production, Account Services, Sales, Safety, Plant Management, and Manufacturing Leadership.\nSite Operations Relationship: The Materials Planner operates as an embedded member of the site’s operating team. The Site Operations Director provides input on daily operating priorities, responsiveness, plant integration, and performance. Functional standards, planning methods, inventory-planning policies, role expectations, professional development and performance accountability remain under Planning leadership.\nRegular interaction with assigned suppliers to coordinate material requirements, delivery schedules, supply continuity, performance expectations, quality concerns, capacity constraints, material availability, and issue resolution.\n\nKnowledge, skills and Abilities Required:\nStrong verbal and written communication skills are critical\nExcellent interpersonal skills\nStrong negotiating skills\nProficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word\nAbility to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language\nUnderstanding of the organization’s goals and objectives\nHighly self-motivated and directed\nKeen attention to detail\nSuperior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities\nAbility to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment\nWillingness to travel as needed (up to 15%)\nSupply chain experience preferred\n\nCandidates must be authorized to work in the United States (or Canada if applicable) without current or future employer sponsorship.\nCompensation That Reflects Your Value:Your experience and contributions matter.
