Description:\n Provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and hands-on management for AMSURG’s comprehensive claims portfolio\n Manage the end-to-end claims lifecycle within the Risk Management department\n Evaluate and investigate reported incidents, allegations, and claims\n Assess liability, determine compensability, verify coverages, and manage carrier notifications\n Partner with external insurance adjusters and defense counsel on defense strategies and claim outcomes\n Execute releases or payments within designated authority\n Lead the strategic vision for the claims function and promote continuous improvement, operational excellence, high performance, and compliance\n Advise Corporate and Center staff on claims-related issues\n Optimize Return-to-Work programs\n Manage subpoenas and medical record requests\n Analyze complex claims data and third-party loss runs to identify risk trends\n Translate data into actionable strategic insights and prepare ad-hoc leadership reports\n Collaborate with Finance, Legal, IT, Real Estate, and Operations to integrate risk management best practices\nRequirements:\n Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university\n Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience as a claims handler\n Basic knowledge of claims processes for litigated and non-litigated matters\n Understanding of reserve setting, claim finances, and loss run data analytics\n Strong knowledge of state or federal regulations and/or statutes regarding insured claims preferred\n Professional Liability, Workers Compensation, and Property experience highly preferred\n Ability to independently assess liability, determine compensability, verify coverages, and manage carrier notifications\n Ability to manage a diverse claims portfolio consisting of Workers’ Compensation, Property, General Liability, and Professional Liability\n Ability to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily\n Ability to collaborate with executive
